It used to be better. My husband ordered the NY strip and it was brought out as just meat on a plate with his sides on separate plates. The presentation could’ve been better. The miso with my cod was overly sweet. It was almost dessert like. The service was great though. Our waitress was super sweet and on it. The basque cheesecake is still great! Also, minor, but a little bummed they did away with the luxury soap in the bathroom.

The atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant was very wonderful and eye pleasing. The food and drinks were excellent.

As always we had a brilliant evening! All the wait staff and chefs were excellent! Foo and drink was flawless!

The food was good but too much effort was made to put it over the top and the result was subpar. Same with the service. The wait staff was clearly doing as they had been directed. The result was that some server or other was always at our table. Constantly bringing food, taking away silverware, adding silverware, refilling water glasses, removing plates, there was no uninterrupted time for conversation. It was not a relaxing dining experience. If the food had been outstanding maybe I would try them again.

The NY Strip and hamachi crudo were our favorites! I’ve been a few times and it’s always outstanding. My only complaint is the drinks aren’t my favorite so I would maybe stick with wine. Also the birthday dessert was not very good. I recommend the chocolate chip cookies or coffee and donuts for dessert!

This was the second time we celebrated our anniversary dinner at The Lively. This year, my family was on an elimination diet, and we were concerned that the chef might not be able to accommodate us. This was not the case at all. We had an amazing meal and time, and having eaten at most restaurants in Boise I can honestly say they make the best steak I have ever had. Thank you for once again making our anniversary special. We'll see you next year!

The food was just terrible. Dry meat filled pastas with no sauce , at all. The service was marginal, but I think that was “back of house issues”, not our server. Not a great look when you have to go to Guidos’s next door to get satisfied after dinner.
