Sunday Lunch - nice food, the mixed selection of veg was not consistent, so the five plates looked different some had broccoli others had none. Service was very slow, we were in the garden however our table was booked for 12.30, it was not that busy when we first arrived.

Very good as usual, food exallent,service good, staff very helpful and careing as my husband has mobility issues Booked again for next week.

Lovely spot on the river, whilst we booked a table inside we took our chances and sat outside and luckily the rain didn’t appear!! 👍🏼. Lovely garden with dogs and small children. The team are always friendly and helpful. Great spot for a weekend lunch time catch up with friends and family.

Arrived,greeted by a tall young man who stated we were outside,table 11, he didn’t even show us to the table,no numbers on them,so sat down. Waited half an hour,no body came out to see if we were ready to order or would like any drinks. Had to go in and ask. Food very poor,dry burger, old cold chips, pizza was fine,but overall very disappointing. No body came out to check if our food was ok,Will not be returning any time soon. Staff need some lessons in hospitality

Another excellent meal at The Lion. Great food, Fillet was cooked just as requested. Very helpful staff. Would definitely recommend!

Attractively appointed dinning room with comfortable seating. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Great menu choices. All the food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented and really delicious. Will definitely return.

Food was outstanding. It was very quiet but i put that down to the Football on tv. Staff were excellent.

I have been here a few times over the years and service has always been great. Unfortunately this visit was not great. I believe the there may have been new staff members on so understand being a little slower. We waited for around 15 mins for the menu after we had chosen our seats (had booked in advance ) After another 10/15 mins wait still no drinks ordered so had to order at the bar myself and ask for our food order to be taken. Food was slow coming out but it was busy so that was understandable. We asked one of the staff who served us fiod if we could get a jug of water for the table. We finished our meal and waited for around another 20 plus minutes to see if staff were going to come and take pudding order or deliver the water we had asked for. I then had to go to the bar to request the water and puddings, the lady on the bar said no one had requested water ? The food was lovely as always but it was a real shame the service was no where near where it should be or has been in the past. Hopefully this was just a one off as If the service was the same next time I would probably avoid.
