It's a wonderful 'olde worlde' inn, a delight to local and foreign visitors. Once inside, the greeting is immediate and cheerful. Food can be eaten in the bar or upstairs in the quieter dining room. Either way, the food is always excellent. The service is superb, friendly and fun. We have yet to be anything other than extremely delighted on our many visits.

The food was excellent as always. On arriving I asked if we were able to takeaway a roast dinner and was told that we could but were not told the the kitchen closed at 8pm so n order when we went to order out desserts we were told the kitchen was closed and we could not have the takeaway roast. On ordering our main meal we were not given the option of veg or salad so when my meal arrived it came with a lettuce leaf's and chips of which I did not want. After we had order I did hear them ask other customers if they would like veg. I asked if I could have veg and they did take the salad away and bought me veg but no potatoes so ended up having to have the chips. We then order our dessert for them to come back and say sorry we have none of that cheesecake left. This was not so much of a problem as pubs/restaurants do run out but we then decided not to have a dessert. A very disappointed customer.

My son and I have been visiting The Linny for about two years on a weekly basis. It’s an excellent place to visit and eat. We cannot fault it in anyway. The atmosphere is very welcoming from the Owner and the Staff. We have recommended it to numerous people. The food menu is very varied and well thought out. The high standard of cuisine is constant. The building is very interesting and well looked after and loved. You are very well looked after during your visit.

Atmosphere relaxed-the table service was friendly and prompt.The staff are informatve, they know their menu and wine plus local beers all of which are affordable-a refreshing plus.The menu is large,with choices to accomodate most tastes-real value for money. My youngest grandson chose the Aberdeen Angus beefburger-apparently the best burger he had ever had!Whilst the elder grandson ate lamb cutlets with relish.The food in the Linny is hot and tasty consistenly excellant, the service is outstanding-very welcoming for all ages.
