The Library Wine Bar and Bistro is Wallingford's original town library. Built in 1899, it was passionately and lovingly restored back to its classic, architectural beauty in 2014.

    We came for a family dinner. Service speed and quality was just what you want. There was a great selection of cocktails and mocktails which everyone enjoyed. Food was very good which include some good vegan options. It was not our first time here and I know it will not be our last.

    Had a first time experience in celebrating my wife’s birthday. The food, service and an ambience could not have been better. And the birthday cake portion for my wife was a delightful surprise would highly recommend.

    We visited for dinner because we had a previous experience at brunch and it was very good. Dinner, not so much. Fried Calamai was bland and very chewy, presentation was lacking as well. The braised “Beef Short Ribs” were nothing more than overcooked pot roast over a boat load clumpy sticky grits.Again, presentation was unappetizing. The Sea Scallops were small with chunks of chewy bacon over a concoction of quinoa, raw skin on diced green apples, cubed butternut squash and some kind of sweet puree underneath. The flavors did not come together and again everything on the plate was the same color and uninviting. Guess we should have been tipped off when the drink menu was bigger than the food menu.

    Please stop calling “loud” energetic. It was loud. Difficult to hear my table mate.

    First, the service was a little slow and it was VERY noisy, but the food was excellent and all 6 of us enjoyed our salads and entrees and desserts. I would go again but ask for a quieter area.

    Everything about our dinner was fantastic. The server was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We love the bread from Lupi Legna to start us off! Our meals (shrimp & grits; halibut special) were absolutely delicious and creative. We love the atmosphere as well. The only minor thing is that the back bench seat cushions (upper level) needed a good brushing off. There were multiple crumbs and debris, most likely from the day before because we were an early reservation on a Saturday evening (4:45). We will definitely be back soon!

    Very nice decor. Food was very good. Place was very busy and the staff very attentive. John was our server and was excellent! We all had different fish meals and everyone was delicious.
