Located in the London Marriott Hotel County Hall, The Library décor features the original oak bookcases stacked with the classics and adorned with busts of literary and historical figures. Indulge in history whilst enjoying spectacular views over the River Thames and Big Ben.
Award-winning Executive Head Chef Jamie Welch has created a new elegant menu for The Library featuring contemporary British dishes with a modern twist.
Freshly prepared by our creative pastry chefs, afternoon tea features reimagined classics including a delectable arrangement of cakes and pastries, sweet and savoury scones served with seasonal jams and clotted cream, and full flavoured finger sandwiches.

We had a great time for afternoon tea with friends. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

With the prevalence of afternoon teas available in London, I would advise going somewhere else. A real shame, as the ambience is perfect, as is the view of Westminster. But, the lack of sandwiches (got told when I complained they were replinishable which was a bit late as the table had virtually been cleared) followed by 5 cakes to be shared by 2 people made this afternoon tea extortionately expensive. If you want a special afternoon tea, go to The Ritz, The Savoy or even Sketch. Still expensive but at least in those places you get what you pay for! Unlike at The Library.

Amazing experience: The view is fantastic, the environment is classy and the service superb. Shoutout to Chandra who was above and beyond with the service. The view of the Big Ben with a tranquil setting adds a wonderful experience and the food (especially the desserts) is very good.

A lovely spot - the tea was absolutely delicious (I thought it better than the Ritz) and you can’t beat the view

The Library, County Hall is a lovely setting, we had a beautiful view of Big Ben. We were 15 mins late, I called to explain and was told it was not a problem our table was ready. However, when we arrived there was no table set for us, although there were a number free. We were given a complimentary glass of champagne to apologise for this, which was nice. The food was lovely although sandwiches would benefit from more filling. Scones were unusual and delicious, as were all the other cakes and treats. You don’t get one of each for all the cakes for each of you so you kind of share them out, but it worked ok. Lovely card and flower for my mum, as it was her birthday which was a lovely touch. Many thanks.

What a delightful tea. Besides the wonderful food and champagne, the view of Big Ben was spectacular. A must do if you are in London.
