Great soft opening as there could be more reasonable price food on the menu. The cocktails were good but need a bigger selection of bourbon cocktails. I think the patio and live music is a nice tough.

What an incredible venue! The drinks were a little pricey but they were so good, that didn’t stop our group from trying many many of them🤤. We had the olives and almonds and they were delicious. 4 of us split a large pizza (Meat Jesus) and we were not disappointed. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and gave good recommendations. We had other staff stop by as well to check on us during our experience. We cannot wait to take others, especially out of town guests! This is definitely my new favorite 🤩

The food and atmosphere were great! Our server was very friendly and helpful! The outdoor space was amazing, too.

Amazing whiskey selection and the Chicago-style pizza was phenomenal. Our server, Nick, was a delight. Cannot wait to return!

We loved our visit here. Was recommended by Candace at barrel and billets and we are glad she sent us there. Everyone was so friendly. The atmosphere is so cool. The food delicious and the beverage yummy. Highly recommend the friar bacon, pizza and the lemonade with real gin.

I was here in a party of 3 for soft opening. We had a great time. The space is stellar, so impressive! Classy and a bit of tongue in cheek fun, being that you’re in a bourbon bar very much in a former church. Service was just as good as the vibe, maybe better if that’s possible. Thank you Min for hosting us and ensuring we had a great time. Drinks and food were very good and I bet will be top notch by the time The Last Refuge officially opens with their expanded menu. White truffle popcorn, artisan pizza, unique cocktails and a beer and wine menu. The bourbon part is not quite open but lots of Heaven’s Door representing as I hear Bob Dylan is a major investor into this space. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area, great for date night, small group hangout. May avoid large groups for now until they grand open with full accommodations.

We had a great time during the soft opening! The cocktails were great and the ambiance/service was top notch. Because of the soft opening phase, the food menu was a bit limited during this time (we knew that going in), but we grabbed a couple pizzas for our group and both were actually really, really good and not heavy (thin crust, small squares). We tried the Meat Jesus and the Madonna for a group of 4. The live acoustic music in the main bar was also a nice touch. Excited to see what the future brings for this new concept in NuLu and pretty confident it will do well!

Went to soft opening. Loved inside and outside of the building. Service was very prompt and attentive. We had drinks and the meat pizza. Pizza was good just a little on salty side for us. We will definitely go back!!

This is a really neat venue for dinner. We opted to eat outdoors as the weather was good. It was quite windy but not horribly so. We ordered the wedge salad and the meat Jesus pizza to share and both were very tasty. The pizza crust is not your usual and I really enjoyed it. It had a nice flavor to it which is unusual given that crusts usually just hold the good stuff. The dressing on the salad was definitely made in house if I were to guess and was a perfect blue cheese - mild, not overbearing. I did venture indoors for a peak at things and it is really cool. Our server was lovely and as attentive as she could be. I got the feeling they were a bit understaffed for the number of diners they had. They do advertise as a 'bourbon bar' that serves bites but I think most people were there for dinner so they may need to shift their staff accordingly as food demands a lot more time and energy.
