Had lunch with friends, great friendly service, good menu choices, good food. Only complaint was it was very quiet so no atmosphere.

When we walked in there were 2 girls on the bar not a clue what they doing, glasses piled high for washing and people waiting to be served. Waited to be taken to our table, waited, waited no one acknowledged we were there. In the end we walked out. Really cannot give an opinion on the food as we didn’t have any.

We went to the Lamb for my son's birthday as it was near his house in Newport. Never been before. The restaurant manager welcomed us and his service throughout the visit was very good. The drinks were as expected but the atmosphere (pretty empty) and food were below what we would have preferred. Nothing bad really, just not noteworthy.

Perfect Friday lunchtime meal. Nice atmosphere, beautiful restaurant, pleasant staff, good choice of food and drinks. Food was excellent, good portions, great value for money. Chicken schnitzel was as good as you’ll get anywhere!

Menu good. Service ok. Busy as wedding reception in restaurant which was very noisy on arrival.

The food and service was lovely and could not fault. However it was the actual building that was poor. Where we were seated smelt musty/ dirty. The toilets (female) were dirty cobwebs all on the walls. The outer toilet bowl was filthy, very poor cleaning standards. Through the main restaurant the floors looked like they had not seen a broom or mop in a while. It was disappointing to see how dirty the place had become and put up off returning shame as the food is lovely.

We went here for Sunday lunch with the family. We were generally very happy with the quality and amount of food provided, although my beef was over done, for my liking, and wasn't particularly hot. However, overall it was probably the best Sunday lunch we've eaten out in a long time. The staff were friendly and helpful; unfortunately there was a rather rowdy table of diners in, whose noise level was somewhat overwhelming, but once they left it was a very pleasant experience, and one which we'll be repeating very soon. The value for money was reasonable, given the quality of the food and drink. Would definitely recommend The Lamb to friends and family :)
