Not exactly easy to find, since it's on a side street & the sign is small. Service was professional. Our server was extremely familiar with the menu & a great help. Cocktails were unique & flavorful. Wine list is limited since they are a winery/distillery, but cover all the basic wine flavor profiles. We did not have any of their wines, but all of the cocktails contained their spirits. Starter menu is large & would be a good way to enjoy cocktails or a wine tasting. Main course are limited but the quality & preparation of the proteins was commendable. Lamb chops were high quality & perfectly cooked to med. rare. There were 4 of us & we were all pleased with our meals. Be prepared to spend $100+/person for dinner with drinks, tax & tip.

First time visit and more than pleasantly surprised - definitely would make a return visit- my duck breast was done to perfection and the porkchop my husband had, in his words, was delicious. Lighting of the restaurant, low noise level, and ambience was perfect for a romantic evening. Service was impeccable and hospitable; menu could be expanded but certainly enough offerings for selection - we were disappointed to see that on a Friday evening at 7:00 all the tables were not occupied. This is a real treat for Washington to have an upscale restaurant and for all those who like dining out looking for a best impressive evening at a local restaurant, be sure to think about reserving a table at The Lab.

The food was absolutely a 10/10 if not better, the drinks were delicious, atmosphere was great, the staff was fantastic, and the owner was so pleasant and thankful. I had the blackberry sangria, seasonal salad, NY strip with the green beans and risotto. I am picky, almost never order steak out because it’s always over cooked. This was by the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant and we’ve been to some “of the best” steak houses. Everything was amazing. My husband had the barrel aged manhattan, bison with the green beans and risotto, and Caesar salad! He said it was incredible. We shared the appetizer crab cake. I literally cannot say enough about this restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere new and different or just amazing food - GO!

We have never had a negative experience at the LAB. They are so consistently phenomenal in every aspect of dining. From the second you walk in you know that you are in for a great experience. You receive a warm and sincere greeting from the host, servers who are friendly and extremely knowledgeable, a bartender who makes unique and dangerously delicious drinks, a spot on culinary team who strive for absolute perfection and excellence in every well thought out and creative masterpiece, personal interaction with the Chef and Sous Chef when they visit their guests and, a genuine and sincere greeting and word of thanks from Armen, the mastermind and owner behind the LAB. Treat yourself and the special people in your life and get to the LAB! It will be an experience you won’t soon forget!
