Amazing tasty Sunday lunch to celebrate my sons birthday .. Everything was perfect only criticism was it was a little rushed. We had our roast in front of us in 10 mins of being there. But would definitely go back.

I recently had a cooked breakfast that was overall very enjoyable. The food was of excellent quality, with fresh ingredients and great flavors that made for a hearty and satisfying meal. Every element, from the bacon to the eggs, was prepared with care, showcasing the kitchen’s attention to detail. However, the one downside was that the meal wasn’t as hot as I would have liked. While this didn’t detract too much from the taste, it would have been perfect if it had arrived a little warmer. Still, the quality of the food more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend, but perhaps a bit more attention to temperature next time!

I recently had dinner at this local pub, and I’m still thinking about the incredible steak I enjoyed! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that made it the perfect spot for an evening out. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. The star of the meal, though, was definitely the steak. Cooked to absolute perfection, it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I ordered it medium-rare, and it was exactly as I had hoped – seared beautifully on the outside and perfectly pink inside. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavors of the steak without overpowering it. The sides were just as impressive. All in all, this pub provided a top-notch dining experience with exceptional food and great service. I highly recommend it to any steak lover – I’ll definitely be back!

We always enjoy going to this lovely venue. It was chilly outside but the fires were blazing in the pub. Our party of 4 ordered a varied menu which was tasty. The wine menu is especially good. We look forward to the next trip.

We had to return two peri-peri chickens as they were undercooked and still bleeding. The server quoted the cook to us, with timings of how much time they had been cooked but no apology and no taking responsibility for basic mistake. I then ordered chowder of which I had to leave more than half as it was overly salty and overly microwaved, leading to parts of it being very hard. The sauce appeared to be pure cream so the whole dish was practically inedible despite my having now waited 2 hours to be fed. I didn't complain about the chowder as we were treating a friend for her birthday and I didn't want to cause a fuss and ruin her night. At no point were we offered any recompense for our long wait for food and nobody ventured to ask if everything were ok as they didn't want to know the answer. I came home and prepared food to eat as I had failed to eat a meal despite our hefty meal.

Dear Bernadette, Firstly I'd like to sincerely apologise that your experience with us was not as you had hoped. I had attempted to reply in full via this platform but Open Table only allows 800 characters so I have followed up with an email in more detail. In short, our chickens are temperature probed upon cooking- this determines doneness, not colour. I have checked our records and spoken to the chef and procedure here was followed - I do understand any juice or blood can be off putting though. No one has ever had to wait 2 hours at any of our pubs in the last 5 years for food. Please could you elaborate further? Another great meal at the Kings Arms! Service outstanding - servers very friendly and helpful Meal was very good especially the char grilled prawns, smoked cod’s roe and the battered fish (cod) and chips Very prompt and reasonably priced Thank you Megan and your great team

The food and service was very good. It was quite hot though but ok once we opened a window! Lovely ambience too.
