Unfortunately our food arrived virtually cold. It was replaced but still luke warm. The service was frosty after we complained. They gave us £10 off the total bill (which was over £100 for 2 for Sunday lunch). £10 off is an insult! Such a shame because the pub is delightful and it could and should have been an enjoyable Sunday afternoon treat. The pudding was good, but we did not feel that our custom was valued at all!

The restaurant itself was fantastic. We took overseas visitors for dinner who were blown away by the old charm of the place. One issue was that the address and map in OpenTable took us to the wrong location. Fortunately, it was only about 20 minutes out out of our way, but it did mean we couldn't enjoy drinks before dinner. Strongly recommend that open table get the right address and update the platform.

Beautiful pub in a stunning location. Everything was spot on, menu a little limited though. We did find our table a little dark though, we took a candle from another and was better 😉

Great food great company great atmosphere we took some friends over from Australia. They loved the food enjoyed the atmosphere and surroundings. We will be back.

I've always given 5* reviews but New Year's Eve was disappointing. Food was very below that which I normally experience. Aubergine fritters were soggy. Wellington was not what one would expect but rather two small short crust pastry enclosed pies. And the truffle cheese I'd pre ordered was not available but rather than tell me that, I was served plain cheese (they did remove the cost from the bill, but then we returned it without eating it). We were (politely but totally unexpectedly) asked to vacate our table after an hour as the entertainment needed to be set up, which meant we had no opportunity to order dessert. Really very disappointed, but wine was good, and staff were (as always) pleasant. Shame though. Will return to The Pig next NYE.

Entering the pub was a delight, this was our first visit. Bar staff were sharp and attentive. Restaurant was quite plain and lacking in atmosphere considering it was New Year’s Eve. Food was pretty poor, considering the cost we felt this was not value for money. Our 2 guests chose a pre-ordered dish, which was £45 per person which had to be sent back and the replacement sadly was not much better. The manager did however only charge for one which was appreciated. On a positive note the wine was reasonably priced and pleasant which was very refreshing! Overall the staff were very pleasant. We realise New Years Eve is a difficult night and we would perhaps book again at a quieter time.

Absolutely fantastic visit. The atmosphere, food and service were all exemplary. We visited for a birthday treat and the staff really made it special. Fantastic staff make a fantastic visit. Will definitely recommend. Thank you Kings Arms!

Would recommend. Excellent food and service. Also liked that there was no service charge added to bill, and there was the choice of adding a tip.
