Living nearby and not wanting to cook after a long journey, I tried the Kings Arms. I like to support local establishments such as the Rose and Crown (Great Waltham) and the Six Bells (Boreham). My first impression on viewing the main menu was the prices. They seemed a little high so I assumed I would be getting something special. I chose two "small plates". The waitress placed a small empty plate with raised edges on the table. The plate was stone cold. The two dishes then arrived. As I was on my own there was no point in taking food from the two dishes to place it on a cold plate. As for the dishes, the Italian meatballs in tomato sauce was acceptable but it was supposed to be accompanied by bread. The few very thin slices of bread were totally inadequate. Why skimp on the cheapest part of the dish? The fried Zucchini were a disappointment, probably because I expected something as tasty as experienced in Greece. In the event I was presented with 5 or 6 slices covered with batter and lacking any fried Zucchini flavour. I was offered the pudding menu, which surprisingly was priced slightly lower than I am used to seeing. I chose the crumble and custard. My first impression was how very small the twee pot of custard was. When poured it didn't even cover the top of the crumble. Again, why stint on the cheapest part. Something in the crumble topping was extremely hard. The apple crumble itself was not inspiring compared with that in other establishments. My 250ml of Merlot was fine if a little pricey at £10. A 13% service charge was added to the bill that came to just over £40 Considering what I had, I considered £40 excessive especially when compared with my usual dinning places. Will I be back, I doubt it even though I can walk there in a few minutes. My overall feeling was one of disappointment.

Was looking for a function for the work team from the ambulance hq for our Christmas meal. The Kings arms Broomfield was perfect for us, the food was great, service was fantastic couldn't ask for anymore. Thank you for the hospitality from us all at EEAST

I’m local to the pub and would really love you to bring back the mushroom ARANCINI please!!!! But always enjoy the food and feel you’ve made the new menu which we’ll be back to try more!! But who have I got to speak to to bring back that mushroom dish??? lol

At last the Kings Arms is back open. We decided to go and have a meal to try the food out. We had the fish and chips and we were not disappointed very large fish nice chunky chips little pot of mushy peas and tartare sauce. Very tasty cooked to perfection £17 which I thought was very good . We are going to try another dish on a different day. They have specials in the week from Tuesday to Friday. After meeting my wife in the same pub 39 years ago was nice to go back. The staff was very nice and friendly as well.

Beautiful venue, menu not great for a la carte Saturday evening…. Very Overpriced for the quality of the food, nothing fresh, service was good but discretionary 13% added automatically not warranted for the setting or the food. Wouldn’t recommend unless you are fine with mediocre at gastro prices. all in all there are many fabulous eating places in the area choose another is my recommendation

It was our anniversary meal ,food very good as staff ,but a quiz night was on not really something we wanted to sit through eating our meal , will not go again on a Monday , might try Sunday roast depending what is on entertainment ,much prefer calm relaxing time whilst having our meal

The food was delicious and the service very attentive. However I was not keen on a tv in the dining area, some background music would have been more appropriate. They already have a tv in the bar area for those that choose to watch. In all was a lovely place and the tapas very tasty. We will certainly be returning.
