Enjoyable though an occasional new item on the menu would be welcome though really agree with The Jollys policy of keeping choice number down

Disgraceful, food was disgusting, mains came out just as we finished starter, no one checked on us to see how everything was. Have made a complaint. Staff stood next to the till talking among themselves. We have previously enjoyed coming to the jolly sailor but can’t see us returning after such an appalling service.

It was a random booking for lunch whilst we were having a day at the coast; we live locally, within twenty miles of the coast. It was a lovey day, the best for two weeks. We decided to sit outside for our meal and drinks. I ordered the food and drinks in the bar, the staff were very pleasant and we had a few jokes. Sadly, due to the nature of our beautiful coast in Norfolk, food and drink establishments, tend to exploit the holidaying public in their prices, The Jolly Sailors is, sadly, no exception. Compared to establishments 15 miles inland their prices are some 20% higher. The food was OK, I had fish and chips but, for the same price inland it would have been a much larger portion. Drinks equate to London prices! Sadly, for us it was a ‘dog friendly pub’. The beer garden was full of ‘yapping’ dogs and their ‘fawning’ owners, not what you want in a beer garden well, we don’t. Lastly, and this is just a personal thing, they were playing loud Beatles music, I asked for it to be turned down which, they did. Perhaps, they could play a mix of music rather than one genre. The Jolly Sailors is in a prime position on the coast road so, will attract lots of visitors to the area who, know no better of the ‘real’ local prices. If you are a visitor to the area, it is a very attractive hostelry and satisfied your needs, at a cost. I cannot recommend it to family or friends as I think it is poor value for money, compared to other inland establishments.

The food was mediocre at best and expensive for what it was. The bhaji was hard around the edges and had a thread of material through it. The staff said likely from the cloth they lay them on. The beef burger with bone marrow was nothing special and the cheese baguette was just that! It’s a shame as this used to be a pub that did excellent food. I was disappointed. The staff were very nice and they took the bhaji off the bill.

We’ve normally had such lovely meals and atmosphere at the JS. We went Tuesday for lunch with my elderly parents, the pub was unusually very quiet. On entering the staff weren’t interested in us, took us to the table ( even that seemed to be an effort ) the service was fine but not much more than that, bearing in mind it was so quiet you’d think they’d make an huge effort ( tips are in short supply of you don’t make an extra effort ) my daughter works in a pub so she knows this and was surprised at how much the staff clearly don’t want any tips to boost their wages.

Lunch date for a change . We had pulled pork pizza and meat medley with fries on the side lovely and freshly made .the best was yet to come..... Freshly made churros fresh strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce, thought I'd died and gone to heaven it was simple but sooo delicious!!! Pint and a half of Woodfords cider washed it down nicely. Now for a siesta x

Was ' greeted' by an unhappy bar maid who just thrust her arm in the direction of our booked table, which was tucked away in a little room with partly benched seating which you could barely get your legs under the table. Queued at the bar for ages to give unhappy barmaid our order. Food was very good! Have been here a few times over the years but there seemed something lacking yesterday and will think twice before returning. Just felt nobody cared about the customers, having spent £160 just felt underwhelmed by the experience.
