Voted the nation’s favourite family pub, our 18th century village local on the Norfolk coast serves real ales from our microbrewery Brancaster Brewery, home cooked wholesome food, great pub classics including Jolly Smokehouse specials, local seafood, stone baked pizzas and ice cream from a garden beach hut (and not forgetting the largest selection of rum on the coast!).

    Long wait between main course and dessert. Very noisy due to football being shown on multiple screens in pub and very busy tables. Main course disappointing as no vegetables with fish and couscous. Dessert served was not as described - however this was not charged on final bill. Average venue.

    We were given the choice of our reserved table inside or a table in the garden where we could watch and enjoy Nelson’s Shantymen. We chose to sit outside and the evening was great. Thank you.

    This is a great family pub. Honest food, excellent service and nice atmosphere. If you want posh dining go to the white horse but if you need an all around family experience the The Jolly Sailors is an excellent option.

    Great as always, the specials were homemade scotch egg which was lovely, and humus with homemade flat bread also yummy. I had pizza which was huge my wife had nachos. Lucky Lobster is also highly recommended. We were well looked after by Matt

    We always eat at the jolly sailor when we’re in norfolk. Good food, good value, lovely friendly staff, dog friendly, and a garden

    Food order arrived before drinks. No cutlery after food was brought out and we had to ask as the waitress hadn’t realised. Bar tender (female with checked shirt) was incredibly rude to both myself & later my husband (she didn’t know we were part of the same party). No manners at all and just rude and disrespectful. Love the pub but staff need training on hospitality etiquette and how to speak to customers who are in effect paying their wages. Food was great and we are returning customers. Great menu and catered for a gluten free within our group.
