The food and service was great… It was Friday so fish & chips were had by all. Delicious, especially the fish with crispy beer batter… At close to £20 per serving not the cheapest F&Cs, but it is in a pub setting and it came with extras like mushy peas and mayo, plus I ordered a curry sauce extra… We were all very happy xx

Very nice pub in lovely location. Very nice dining room and fantastic staff. Food is nice. Good variety. I had the steak which was ok but it either needed hanging for longer or it hadn’t been beaten down it wasn’t very tender. Tasty though. Would go again.

Service was average - waiters spent more time clearing and re-setting empty tables, rather than serve us. We were offered water - it didn’t come. Then we waited 10 minutes to be asked for our drinks order, and had to stop someone to ask. Then we had to stop a waiter again to take our food order. Staff seemed very young and inexperienced, or not interested. Then had to wait ages o have to ask to get our bill, then ended up walking to the counter to make payment, as no one was coming over with the card machine. At breakfast - exactly the same experience - hardly anyone in there, but the one waitress that was, wouldn’t come over to take our order - we had to ask again. Quite disappointed with the overall experience, and definitely more training required with the waiting staff.

Steak pie was phenomenal and the quirky dog menu is a fantastic touch , however , the service is absolutely appalling and the drinks ridiculously overpriced - Example , £12 for a glass of wine !!! The Male toilet was in poor order , less hygiene issues in the toilet from Trainspoting! At least Frank the pooch had no complaints and was satisfied with his meal.

My experience was perfect staff were very attentive & it was great that dog are allowed making the experience even better! food was lovely too will be back soon :)

The menu has a good choice and the food quality is excellent. As a self- styled gastro pub you expect a bit more than standard pub grub and that’s what you get. You also expect slightly higher prices and you get that too. The ambience is good, it was busy and lively and had several families in. It’s also refreshingly dog-friendly. Service was quick and efficient.

This is our second visit but first for Sunday lunch and we were but disappointed. We were a party of six which was not a problem and no deposit was taken. We all went for need and had a choice of how we wanted it cooked “pink or past” which was impressive as a lot of places only offer pink. It was all very nice and the Yorkshire puddings were huge and beautifully crispy. Surroundings very nice a tables not too close. Too full for a pudding so cant comment. I would certainly recommend and will return when in the area again.we also had 3 dogs with us collectively and again it was not a problem
