    Lovely food, varied menu for all tastes. I had the vegan fish and chips which I can highly recommend. Would definitely come back again.

    I usually give this pub 5 star but since this has changed hands quality has gone down, i had the Chorizo in red wine and chic peas to start, there where more chic peas than Chorizo very disappointed then we had fish and chip, fish was good but the chips teased like oven chips again very disappointed, its a shame as this was one of our favourite places to eat.

    Met my sister and her husband here after we’d taken our very excitable and sometimes reactive border collie Lili for a long walk and play at Football Hole. Lili was welcomed as were we all and we were sat just off the main bar area. Lili soon settled down due to the lovely calm atmosphere even though there were other dogs present. Service and food exceptional and great portion sizes; amazing fish. An absolutely first class pub/restaurant. Treat yourself it’s fab 😊

    We visited whilst on holiday in beadnell due to good reviews. I ordered a Caesar salad as main meal. It came as 3 baby gem lettuces cut in half with croutons and chicken on a plate that was too small and it was completely saturated in an over powering dressing.it was inedible. I ate the chicken and left the rest. I told staff I would pay the price of the starter for the meal although really I think I shouldn’t have paid anything.staff did this with no issue but it was a very disappointing meal.other parties meals were ok but nothing special. Waiting staff were helpful with allergies.

    Excellent menu choices and fabulous cocktail list. Food was superb and generous portion sizes.

    Some of the best meals I have ever had. Perfect example of a country gastro pub. We travelled almost an hour to visit it after our first visit impressed so much.

    We booked a table on the recommendation of a friend. We were entertaining friends who were visiting for a few days. The quality of the food was excellent. We couldn’t fault it. The table was dirty and had not been cleaned properly for our arrival. There were bits of food and it was wet. The level of service was poor. We had to wait ages for our order to be taken and had to call someone over to take a desert order after waiting a very long time.

    We enjoyed two great meals during our recent trip to Northumbria. On both occasions we have great food from a good selection, service was spot on and a lovely place to visit.
