Au cœur même de la Joel Palmer House est le champignon. La maison cherche à utiliser des ingrédients saisonniers et locaux, y compris de nombreux laitues, herbes et légumes locaux dont certains viennent du jardin culinaire particulier du restaurant. La cuisine « libre » du restaurant prend souvent son inspiration des ingrédients utilisées dans la cuisine de la France, de la Chine, de la Thaïlande, de la Pologne et de l'Inde. Les célèbres vins d'Oregon, surtout le Pinot Noir, le Pinot Gris et le Chardonnay, se marient parfaitement aux plats. La vaste carte des vins, sur laquelle figurent principalement des vins d'Oregon, a été honoré du Best of Award of Excellence par l'association Wine Spectator. Il est à noter que la Joel Palmer House est classé parmi les maisons historiques les plus élégantes d'Oregon et figure sur le National Register of Historic Places ainsi que l'Oregon Historic Register. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating the entire evening. We opted for the omakase experience, and we added the bone marrow to the dinner. Each of the courses was amazing visually. Each dish featured micro greens and color from edible flowers and sauces, so we presented in a very organic looking way. Some of the the mushroom dishes didn't have a lot of flavor, but the duck was outstanding, the risotto was amazing, and the dessert was delicious. Our main complaint though was that there was too much food for an omakase, and left us feeling full before we reached the end of the experience. Ideally we should be feeling just right by the end, but there were several courses that had more food than was necessary. For instance the escargot could have been just 1 not 3, the muscles could have been 1, the NY steak could have been been about a quarter of the amount served. We felt full and couldn't enjoy the flavors of the things towards the end as much as if there was less. Has we known how much was remaining we would have eaten less of each, but we trusted the experience. The food visually was absolutely amazing though, and the dessert was some of the most visually appealing I have eaten. The frozen strawberry mousse, terrarium, and cannolis were amazing. Overall the food didn't match the $600+we spent for 2 with glass of wine each and 2 bottles of sparkling water, but it was still a great experience.

Excellent meal. Staff very knowledgeable Staff was attendant and not smothering. I would return.

We had an amazing dinner experience! Levi, Josh, Kilo and Sarah were great!! There were more people helping us out, but their names are escaping me, and I apologize. We did the Omakase experience and it definitely did not disappoint! Highly recommend the Joel Palmer house, if you love mushrooms as much as we do!!

The Mushroom Tasting Menu was wonderful. Great options for each course, including several JPH signature dishes. Service was friendly and helpful, and very attentive. I would recommend to anyone wanting one of the best dining experiences in Oregon.

Wonderful experience, delicious food and lovely service. I highly recommend Joel Palmer House resturante. Fantastic wine selection and deserts were so tasty and creative.

As always the service was great. The food was well prepared and presented perfectly. Loved everything except for the beef stroganoff. Very heavy and hyper rich. It needed something to balance it out especially since it is a late meal dish. Additionally, we are frequent fine dining patrons but the price is getting up there. We will definitely return as the overall experience is top notch.

The quality of the food was very good as well as the harmony of the flavors. The mastery of the presentation was very high. Beautiful presentation. Service was young in experience though promising. Our guest had an issue with an active ant which crawled out of an edible garnish during the second course. Really not too alarming though it should have been addressed by the chef of the evening. I did leave a written comment on the table as well.

Then entire staff (and I mean this literally as the restaurant team works together seamlessly) created a wonderful birthday evening for us. We sat in the private outdoor table and were treated to an evening of incredible food and just as amazing hospitality. It's an evening we won't forget!
