The Jackdaw, Conwy

Jackdaw or Jac-do in Welsh, is the nickname given to a person born within the castle walls of Conwy town.
The name is taken from the bird which can be found nesting in the walls of the town and castle.

Within the walls of Conwy Castle lies The Jackdaw, a restaurant by Nick Rudge.
Providing a unique Welsh Tasting Menu on Tuesday to Saturday evenings and 'The Nest', a reduced 4 course lunch Tasting Menu on Friday and Saturdays.

The Nest is a 4 course lunch menu priced at £35 per person in The Jackdaw, Conwy. We would love to welcome you on Friday and Saturday lunches between 12pm and 3pm. With delicious food and lots of wonderful wines by the glass, our menu changes very regularly, similarly to The Jackdaw's ethos the menu will change with the seasons around us! The food was exceptional. We all struggled to choose a favourite course. The wine pairings were very well considered and we actually ordered one of the bottles online while we were still at the table. The staff were fantastic. Very polite and extremely helpful. I'd highly recommend The Jackdaw to anyone wanting a beautiful meal for a reasonable price.

A beautiful restaurant that gives particular attention to detail. From arrival to us leaving we were made to feel welcome and looked after the entire time. Exceptional food as always. It’s our favourite restaurant for all occasions, but especially because the overall experience is a joyous one.

The tasting menu is very over priced for the food. The food wasn’t that great, it was very salty, a lot of cold dishes and pretty bland tasting to be honest.

My wife and I went to The Jackdaw for our anniversary dinner. The food was excellent matched by the service and ambiance. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for its original and very tasty cuisine.

Nick and the team serve up a brilliant set menu for lunch at The Nest at The Jackdaw. The welcome is warm, the food is exciting and the service is genuinely friendly. We especially appreciated the wine recommendations and knowledge, and the fact that we were welcome to bring our small baby along for a special occasion.

Fantastic tasting menu. Bread of Heaven is great. Service is impeccable. It's not cheap but it is exception food. If you like a Tasting menu you'll love this. Whole experience lasts about 3.5 hours.

Gorgeous food, gorgeous service.Lovely small setting not too overwhelming when busy which I loved. Gareth has fabulous knowledge of food and wine and great recommendations . We will be back.
