We felt quite lonely in such an open space when we first arrived and would have liked to be in the bar area of the restaurant. But it soon picked up and we had a superb time. Our servers were very friendly and good to chat to. We had fried gherkins to start which were amazing. Followed by a beef roast, which was sensational and one of the best roasts I've had this year. My partner had the vegetarian main and adored it! It's really refreshing to have something that isn't just your run of the mill fake meat or nut roast for your main. The house wine was pleasant. And the chocolate mousse and crumble deserts were equally great! We can't wait to come back!

We were a large table of 13 the food was excellent. The service was outstanding and very reasonably priced. I cannot recommend this enough. It’s beautiful you can take dogs. They’ve got a lovely outside area. Certainly give it a go.

Fantastic Dog friendly Inn, so pretty inside and also beautiful gardens. Staff are attentive and friendly. We had Sunday lunch and it was divine. Well cooked meat and vegetables Yorkshire Pudding and lots of gravy. Great drinks menu and delicious homemade puddings. Would definitely recommend

We always enjoy our visits. The service is friendly and good. The food is excellent. It can be a bit noisy. We shall return.

Food was beautifully cooked and well presented. Staff have tip top customer service skills; attentive without being overbearing. Dogs made welcome.

Went for late Sunday Roast. The quality of the beef was excellent but the thing that really makes their roast is the exceptional gravy. We also had a delicious cote du Rhone at £36. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds to the pub. My only complaint would be the very bright harsh bare bulbs in the light fittings. I know this is an interior design trend but I know I’m not alone in finding these very annoying. But don’t let that put you off having a delicious meal.

Another fantastic dining experience at The Jack Russell. This is my absolute favourite pub - amazing food, lovely venue and the service is second to none. Honestly couldn’t recommend this highly enough. We try to visit every month it’s that good.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. The setting is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff are so warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful meal and overnight stay. We would highly recommend.

Lovely setting outside but the inside of the pub is also extremely comfortable. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. Menu offered a good range of choices. We had a very enjoyable experience and will definitely return.
