The Ivy est une institution londonienne depuis 1917. Le restaurant et le salon privé à l'étage sont la quintessence du glamour. Au centre du restaurant, un bar chatoyant attire les regards admiratifs tandis que les fenêtres aux vitraux caractéristiques, les boiseries en chêne et la superbe collection d'art contemporain assurent la longévité de cette institution dans la restauration très britannique. Le chef Gary Lee vous a concocté des menus de saison équilibrés, mettant au goût du jour les classiques et y intégrant des plats d'inspiration asiatiques, des salades et des légumes, ainsi qu'une section « de la mer et de coquillages ». Le directeur Fernando Peire dirige une équipe solide et expérimentée pour offrir le service sans faille qui a fait la réputation de The Ivy au fil des années. Was greeted by a hostess overcome by a mountain of coats so getting “checked in” took a little while. Had drinks at the bar - all fine, went to table the maître D a older gentleman was absolutely excellent and looked after us very nicely as was the young Polish lady who looked after us as well. My only gripe was that the starters came out before the drinks the chap on the bar very polite but was incredibly slow and everything else was excellent as I normally expect at the Ivy in West Street as a regular diner and remembering my wife’s birthday was a very nice touch

My wife has long wanted to go to the Ivy (it’s her name). She had been so excited. When we arrived, the hostess barely acknowledged us. She had been chatty with the previous person but with us, just a blank look. Our party of four was seated and then we waited. “Waiting” is the theme of our meal. We waited to place our order for what seemed longer than needed since restaurant was not that busy. The waiter took our drink orders and then we waited. Finally our food order was taken. The food arrived quickly enough. The food was excellent. Half of our drinks were empty when food was served. No one, at any point, asked if we wanted more beverages. Not one! Amazingly poor service. We finished our meals and waited at least 20 minutes, with empty plates, until someone came by to bus the table. And then we waited again. Someone finally came over to see if we wanted desserts. Again, drinks were not addressed. We almost passed on dessert since by this point, my wife was getting frustrated. And that’s hard to do. Dessert came, amazingly delicious. And then the waiting again. We finally got someone to give us the bill. And guess what, we needed to wait again. 2 1/4 hours after getting there, we were finally able to leave. Now, admittedly I am a tourist and may not be up on the British food serving customs, but to me, the service was just plain terrible. Don’t waste your £300 here. There has to be better places to go. Thankd for nearly ruining my wife’s dream. At least she enjoyed the food.

Greeted at the door by the doorman and told to have a nice evening. Front of house took my coat and bag and said my table was ready early. The sparkling/still water I’d requested was on the table already. One of the servers asked if she could pour one of the waters for me and if I wanted to order anything whilst I waited for my guest. Food was very nice. I had the fried haddock with chips. Very fluffy batter with the right amount of crisp. Overall the staff were very attentive and ambience of the restaurant was very relaxing and welcoming.

Really disappointed with the wheat intolerant and egg intolerant options. Extremely limited. . Ended up with a burger between two slices of non gluten bread?? There was egg in the potatoe on both the fish pie and Shepard’s pie topping, So if you’re intolerant to both you were extremely and I mean extremely limited. Ended up eating something I didn’t really want. Deserts were the same. Even the chocolate bomb had egg in it😱 so disappointed. Thought that a restaurant like this would pay more attention to allergies and provide more options. Ambiance and service top class.

Well worth it, if a restaurant is there to deliver experience and a feeling of happiness then this is still an absolutely fantastic restaurant

Forgot about this beautiful Ivy that I haven’t been to for years. The decor is all original art deco and I loved sitting around the bar area on the raised chairs. Definitely recommend.
