Compared to other Ivy Brasserie locations I’ve dined at, Ivy Brasserie Victoria was by far the most disappointing experience. The service staff seemed inexperienced, and the overall customer service was seriously lacking. In all my dining experiences, both nationally and internationally, including at Michelin-starred restaurants, I have never been informed of the cost of wine options before ordering. Despite this novel approach, the red wine selection was not particularly good, especially the Malbec, which is typically full-bodied and flavoursome but was instead tangy and overpriced. Additionally, the food was lukewarm by the time it was served, and there was a long gap between when we received our food and when our drinks arrived. I can only conclude that we dined at the wrong time of day, as this was on a Sunday.

As a visitor to several different Ivy restaurants I found the new lunch menu on my recent visit to Victoria very good. Excellent value for money in portion size and quality.

Always lovely to visit, however where I was sat at the end of the bar by reception, I was ignored by two staff members when I tried to order a drink. Reception staff were lovely, as were the table staff. The food was good, but somewhat under seasoned, and the table salt had to be replaced upon request as was blocked. We left a bit earlier than planned as the volume got quite loud. A nice evening, but not a great one.

We had an absolutely fabulous evening that was somewhat ruined by the fact that our waiters threw an absolute fit about us wanting to pay separately. We had asked on booking if we could do this and were told “yes”, we asked on sitting down and were told “yes” but when it came to paying she was so incredibly rude. We ended up having the manager - who was lovely - help us with the payments. That said, the food, ambience and, of course, bathrooms, were very good indeed. I came away with a pit in my stomach from the way the waitress treated us though.

I booked a table for Sunday lunch as it was for 3:15pm I asked at reception are you still serving Sunday lunch. Yes they were. I ordered the roast beef and some table water, after around five minutes what looked like the manager came over and said no more Sunday lunches, so I quickly chose something else, Chicken Milanese. It was dreadful dry, tasteless and the egg was so dry! The guy that bought the water bought me a bottle and I asked for tap water, It was only me and I didn’t want a bottle, so I sent that back. The service was also very rushed and the person that initially served was difficult to understand. I then asked for the bill, after 15 minutes I asked again, and then again, it took 20 minutes to get the bill! It is not the most expensive place to eat but it’s also not cheap! Sorry Ivy Victoria you really need to do better.

Despite pre-booking a table for ten when our party arrived the table was set for nine people. I had to ask for another small table to be added rather than a chair and place setting squeezed onto the end of the table. The roast beef dinner (there was no other choice, just beef) was lukewarm, not hot. The wine was placed in an ice bucket and put adjacent to a table at the end of ours. We constantly had to ask the server for wine. When I asked the server to put the wine near our table so that we could help ourselves I was told this wasn't allowed, only the server could pour the wine! I will not be returning!
