Staff very friendly write from the start.The Ivy decor is very nice (our first visit).the meal came quicker than expected.A special thank you to our waitress on the night.

Service very poor, breakfast arrived, no toast for 15mins, some of the drinks didn’t arrive. Staff had to be prompted. Such a shame. Birthday celebration.

Great food / drink and very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. Unfortunately this visit was soured by: 1. Our table not being ready, requiring us to wait by the concierge desk for 35 mins past the reservation time. 2. Not receiving the concierge’s promised “free round of drinks” to apologise nor “the manager will personally look after you tonight” (the manager never came near us). 3. The fact it took 20 minutes for a waiter to take our drinks order (we ended up having to go and get someone to come over). First sip was finally taken exactly 60 mins after initial reservation time. 4. On receiving the bill (~£300), which had no deduction made re the promised free drinks (and a full service charge) we had to ask for the manager and explain/complain about everything that had happened. After he spoke with front of house and verified everything, a sincere apology was given and £100 removed from the bill. The Ivy is normally excellent all round. But even they can have an ‘off night’ I guess.

We had a booking for 15:00. We arrived on time and were told, that the table was not available. Told temnminute delay. Ten minutes eventually turned into half an hour late to the table. Apologies were made and a promise of free fizz was made. The bill arrived and we were charged full price for everything. Food was good. Lovely place. Service is mediocre. We will not be back.

A must visit when in Edinburgh. A very special place to eat. Impeccable service of beautiful food. Thank you for another memorable occasion. See you in December.

Good good, but set menu is not the bargain it appears. Main courses don’t come with any sides which jack the price up. Quite a bit. Service was mediocre. Overall, expensive when compared to the experience

Couldn’t fault one thing! We were visiting from Ireland for our tenth wedding anniversary. Food was incredible and staff were amazing!
