Faultless! This really is the place for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The staff are superb and nothing is too much trouble. They have that rare quality of empathy and kindness. The £19.17 menu (2 courses) is a stroke of genius and each dish is a revelation. On this occasion I had the Salmon Rillet, followed by the Shepherds Pie - both sublime in their own right. We started off with a sharing dish of Zucchini Fries, also superb. It really is delicious, down to earth food, made out of the highest quality ingredients in sumptuous surroundings and is remarkable value for money. I cannot praise it highly enough and cannot wait to dine there again.

Excellent meal and excellent service. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the decor is great. Overall it was a great experience.

We regularly eat out in a wide range of restaurants around the country and initially visited the Ivy a year ago, unfortunately the general experience was the same as our visit yesterday. The general look and feel is very nice and it is well laid out with a lively buzz and a good level of service but unfortunately the food was very ordinary and very overpriced for what we ordered , and to my mind the the quantity and value for money is a mark of a restaurant that we would return to - sadly we won’t be returning

My wife and I both had fillet steak. Mine was tough and was immediately replaced along with the chips and peppercorn sauce. While I waited for my 2nd steak, my Coke was refreshed. At the end of the meal I had 3 steaks, 2 chips etc. on the bill, but that was quickly rectified by our young waiter. There was no need to call the manager at any time. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was almost full. Our service was exceptional. Would we go again? Yes. Definitely.

I’ve been here for dinner about 5 times & it’s always been lovely …. This was afternoon tea for 4, which was a gift, turned out to be a really disappointing one. The tea stands on first view looked lovely but there were only 2 finger sandwiches & a small soft roll each, altogether on each stand there were 3 cakes each & a tiny flower pot with some sort of chocolate mousse & a separate stand with 4 tiny, quite hard, fruit scones with the usual jam & cream plus some fresh strawberries, had a couple of cups of tea/coffee offered but that was it then when waiter came to collect some of the used plates etc he leant over a large sofa that was beside our table & slipped with a tea pot in his hand & the tea went everywhere, all over the sofa & our tablecloth & over the floor, luckily not on us on any of our things. He did of course apologise but place wasn’t busy so should have taken more care. Whilst the food we had was ok the offering was poor & the cakes looked like they had come from a supermarket…..Come on The Ivy Marlow Garden surely you can do better than that !!! Had high expectations but very disappointed. Have recommended this restaurant to so many people for the lovely food & cocktails, staff & ambience …. Maybe we went on a bad day.
