The Ivy est une institution londonienne depuis 1917. Le restaurant et le salon privé à l'étage sont la quintessence du glamour. Au centre du restaurant, un bar chatoyant attire les regards admiratifs tandis que les fenêtres aux vitraux caractéristiques, les boiseries en chêne et la superbe collection d'art contemporain assurent la longévité de cette institution dans la restauration très britannique. Le chef Gary Lee vous a concocté des menus de saison équilibrés, mettant au goût du jour les classiques et y intégrant des plats d'inspiration asiatiques, des salades et des légumes, ainsi qu'une section « de la mer et de coquillages ». Le directeur Fernando Peire dirige une équipe solide et expérimentée pour offrir le service sans faille qui a fait la réputation de The Ivy au fil des années.     Haven’t been to the original Ivy for some time (have been to some of the offshoots) and I was disappointed with the food. The veal Holstein was bland, a little soggy and the egg was very overcooked. I had 1 small glass of wine, my main course, a side of fries for the table to share and a glass of water and it was just over £50 per person. Not sure I would rush back, think the group has spread themselves too thin and what used to be a special place is now nothing more than ordinary.

    Nicely greeted at reception--hung up our coats to dry! Table ready and drinks order taken. Food order taken in good time. Food delivered hot and very good. Good varied menu to cater for all tastes and allergies. We three diners had Shepherds Pie, sticky toffee puds and baked Alaska--Yum Principal waiter, Karim, very attentive and interesting to talk to, as were the other table staff. My wife was very happy with her birthday experience--including a `Birthday Plate` very good all round and will be back.

    This is usually one of my favourite restaurants (I’ve thrown many large events here and it’s usually excellent) - so I can only assume the Ivy was having a really off day. I went for a late sitting and was distinctly unimpressed - service was slow, couldn’t order what I wanted as they had run out, no feasible alternative suggested or provided, service was lacklustre and not attentive on it, and left feeling very disappointed. Something I’ve not experienced before :-(

    Delicious food and very attentive staff, particularly our waiter. We don’t want for anything and the presentation of the meal was also exquisite. Highly recommended for good quality food and charming atmosphere.

    Great food and amazing service. Starters of steak tartar (made at our table) and prawn cocktail, followed by the Malaysian prawn curry and veal Holstein were truly memorable. Just a shame that we ran out of time for a dessert as we had to leave for the theatre. We'll definitely be back and make sure we give ourselves plenty of time to enjoy the full experience.
