A friendly welcome, great flavours and cosy surroundings in a lovely village. This is a lovely restaurant if you want to eat out somewhere smarter than a pub, with a more varied menu including wood pigeon and duck.

Really lovely place. The food was delicious we both had starters mine was goats cheese salad and my husband had pigeon both were delicious. For main l have duck which was beautifully cooked and my husband had sea bass. We definitely couldn’t have a dessert as the portions were really good. We thought it was good value for money. The service was fantastic, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Really friendly and welcoming. I am gluten intolerant so there was definitely enough choice for me. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and hopefully come back next time we visit the Lake District. Thank you

We were seated in the smaller of two adjoining rooms at the Ivy House , the waiting staff were extremely polite and attentive to our needs without being in anyway 'over the top'. We both had the sea bass which was bought to the table at a nice and hot temperature. It was cooked beautifully and accompanied by mussels, prawns and squid pieces which was a pleasant surprise. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

Beautifully refurbished restaurant. The food and service were excellent. Would definitely go again and introduce our friends to it. We are local to the area, so not far to travel.

Great restaurant. I ordered an espresso after my meal, which was accepted. After 15 minutes I enquired where my coffee was to be told that they did not do espresso just filter coffee. Disappointed
