From succulent Cumbrian classics to modern European delicacies – the team have designed their daily changing menu to delight and inspire. Just 2 and a half miles from Keswick and 10 minutes from Bassenthwaite Lake- the elegant restaurant and peaceful village of Braithwaite, is the perfect location for a relaxing evening meal out, after a exhilarating day in the Lakeland Fells.

                                                                    Meal was very nice. 3 courses and bottle of wine for 2 was £109. Felt it was pricey. Felt rushed initially as starter plates removed and main course arrived immediately. There was time between main and deserts though. Fast food music pretty naff. Inflexible menu. We had Goats cheese starter and would have had a cheeseboard but of the 5 cheeses on the board 2 were goats cheese. There was no alternative available. We enjoyed the food but not sure we’d repeat as at that price the overall experience and ambience needs to be improved.

                                                                    We had high hopes for this menu but unfortunately the food was overcooked and tasteless, incredibly disappointing and overpriced. At no point were we asked how our meal was.

                                                                    A lovely find on our holiday in the Lake District. The restaurant is recently refurbished and quiet. The waiting staff paid just the right amount of attention to us. The food was excellent and we couldn't resist three courses.

                                                                    Delicious meal. We ate here last year when in Braithwaite and enjoyed it so much. Will return next time. The only issue i would say is no parking nearby.

                                                                    Service was slow. We didn't like the demand that each diner must spend £30+. Food,when it came was adequate, but did not live up to TripAdvisor rating. Customers at the next table were talking loudly about the corporal punishment (now illegal) one had endured at his private school. When I objected, they stopped. We were due to eat there again later in the week, but cancelled the booking.

                                                                    Hello Julian We do insist on £20.00 minimum spend per person but not £30.00+ as you said earlier. Please do not spread wrong information about us. This is clearly mentioned on our menu too. We do recommend everyone to go through the menu and the terms before booking a table. If every customer, just like yourself decides to have just a starter then its best for us to close rather than serving you. Do you not agree, end of the day this is a business and it has to work too as we have bills to pay . If you are not hungry then please don't book a table or may be order a sandwich and have it in your room. Our customers are free to discuss whatever they like, this is a place where people normally relax and have conversations. We are glad you decided to cancel the future booking.

                                                                    What an absolute gem! The restaurant is quite bijou, with a wonderful ambience. The service is superb and the food is to die for. It was absolutely the right choice for a special end to our holiday.

                                                                    We much enjoyed the Ivy House experience. The 4 of us were very impressed by our menu choices. Each dish was very well presented and delicious. The staff were attentive but not over enthusiastic and responded to our requests. The atmosphere was comfortable with a pleasant volume of jazz in the background.

                                                                    The duck was cooked perfectly and the vegetables spot on. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for and one of the best I’ve ever tasted - the cake was sticky with oudles of sauce and delicious full cream ice cream. Our server, Lauri, was delightful and attentive. Brilliant meal - would thoroughly recommend.

                                                                    Lovely restaurant with interesting Indian inspired menu (but still non- Indian options). We booked 6.30 on a summer Friday and was surprised that we had the place to ourselves until 7.00. Filled up over next half hour which did improve the ambience.
