    Took my 13year old daughter after a trip to the theatre in west end I’ve worked in city for years but never visited this Ivy here and I have to say it was a delightful experience to share with my daughter I’ll be back !

    The staff were very pleasant. Our table wasn't set properly but that was easily rectified. Generally we found it noisy (not 'energetic'). There was a table of about 10 women next to us. They were all having a good time and were quite loud. I wasn't sure why myself and my husband were sat about as close as we could be put, given that it wasn't full or anywhere close to it. Added to that music was playing which was louder than it needed to be, too loud to be called an ambience. My husband has hearing problems, which the talking/laughing plus music, makes very difficult for him. The good news: the food was delicious and was served very promptly. I ordered a lime and soda, and it arrived as a soda water with a segment of lime. I was then provided with some lime cordial. Maybe it was my misunderstanding, but I don't think so. The bill arrived and had a 13.5% tip already added in to the total as if it was an item on the bill. Firstly, why 13.5%? Secondly, why add it in, why not leave it to us to decide how much to add as a tip? Although it says down at the bottom that it's discretionary, it feels compulsory. I've been to The Ivy in West Street a few times. The look of City Garden has a lot of similarities, but it doesn't have the class and efficiency of West Street.

    Very very poor and slow service, deliberately ignoring customer contact, every step took forever while staff casually promenading themselves around. Our zuccini were soggy and not crispy. Very disappointing

    We really enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was very enjoyable and the service delightful We will be certain to come back again

    We had an outstanding lunch. Food choice was good. Wine list was comprehensive. Service was excellent. Overall, our party had a wonderful time.

    Do not visit any other Ivy in London - this one has the right combination of location, ambiance and the whimsical feel of being in an English Garden. The £19.17 lunch menu is to notch.

    We chose The Ivy City of London as a little bit special compared to some places. Sadly the service was poor. There were 6 of us. 5 meals came out but not the 6th. After reminding them it took another age to come out by which time one person had shared his breakfast with his wife who was without food. Not what we wanted or expected.
