Ok so booking was probably my fault .. thought I’d booked the ivy Asia next door . So ended up at the ivy . Restaurant itself is very nice but a bit dark . Not the first time I’d eaten here , but first time at night . Music was very loud , noise level was loud so couldn’t hear the waitress. Food was good , but … we had the steak and it was pretty much cold when it came out , and was under cooked. Wasn’t much chance of sending g it back as waitress was hardly around as she was looking after multiple tables . £32.50 for a fillet was expensive, but then had to add sauces and sides , so veg and chips .. main course was approx £55 a head . £50 for the most average bottle of red . No beer on tap . We eat out aloy , so I don’t mind paying the price if it’s good value . Unfortunately at nearly £400 for 4 of us I thought was very expensive for something that was pretty average to be totally honest (had a better meal in the local pub a few weeks back and was half the price !). I think go if you like it … but there are definitely better restaurants to eat in in Guildford that offer better value for money .

We had a delicious lunch yesterday at The Ivy, Castle View. The staff made the atmosphere welcoming and relaxed. All those I interacted with, from the young man at the desk to our waiter, Spencer, were charming and efficient with ready smiles and offers to help.

Underwhelming. I had requested a window seat for a special afternoon tea and that was provided. We had a bit of a wait for the waitress to take orders for drinks. She brought the pots of tea (half filled)but we had to ask for milk. The food was an interesting selection but the sandwiches were really cold which impaired the flavour. The scones were good but only enough jam and cream for three out of the four. We were subtly advised that it was time to go - absolutely no pressure - and then presented with a bill for the discretionary service charge (we had paid with a voucher) It would have been too embarrassing not to pay it but the overall service was mediocre. I’m not sure we will be rushing back for Afternoon Tea at the Ivy - maybe it’s one menu too many in such a busy restaurant?

We always have a wonderful time at The Ivy, Guildford. Fantastic service, the staff are always polite and professional; the food is delicious and there’s a great atmosphere!

Good experience, you need to be careful when the bill arrives as I was originally given the bill for the customers who occupied the table before me. Which was a lot more expensive.

Excellent food, environment, the Waitrose could have been more proactive than us having to call for more drinks, food, and so on. This would have helped the experience to be exceptional. Apart from that, all good!

Each time I come to this particular ivy I’m always disappointed!! The service was shocking!!! It just keeps getting worse! It was so bad that I almost refused to pay the service charge!!

This was a big Birthday for a friend. Unfortunately, we were left for over 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. We had to ask for the afternoon tea. We had to constantly ask for more tea and milk and our plates were just left. Not once did they see how we were with our topping up of our cups etc. felt as though trading on branding, rather than actual service. I have never before given a poor report anywhere. Shame. Thought you should know about our time with you. Emily
