    Table not available until 25 minutes after booking. Thereafter service just ok, food good, restaurant somewhat noisy.

    Lovely warm atmosphere. Waiting staff fabulous- the manageress who had just come on shift got us a great table and our waiter Jay was really attentive and a really great at his job- personable and just the right amount of interaction

    We liked the scene and decor. Service is professional, food is good but not quite like the London Ivy. One of our party got vertigo after the raw salmon starter and left to end up in A&E. This has never happened to them before.

    Having booked a few days before and arriving at a non peak time when there were plenty of tables available we were offered one immediately inside the door in a busy thoroughfare and were told they would need the table back after 1.75 hours. We objected and were begrudgingly shown to one elsewhere. Fish was beautifully cooked but Brussel sprouts were cold and they weren't fresh. They had obviously been frozen. The wine is extraordinarily expensive with the cheapest being £30ish. We had a bottle of Picpoul which cost £47, almost twice what it would be elsewhere. We had to ask for a filling up because they don't leave you with your bottle. We had to wave our arm in the air to get attention for several minutes when we wanted to get the bill. The Ladies wasn't in a good state. The hand dryer wasn't working and a large roll of blue paper was provided but the used towels were overflowing from the bin which clearly hadn't been emptied for some time. On reporting this as we left we were met with sullen faces and total lack of interest. Going to the. Ivy should be special. It wasn't. A better experience is to be had in any of the many other eateries in the area so we won't be returning to the Ivy any time soon!the area
