    We had the email for the autumn menu so decided to come But sea bad had run out but no fish alternative after insisting on so the thing fished based 2 of our party had fish cakes considerably lower dish than sea bass. The pudding course no sticky toffee pudding agin run out but replaced by crème brûlée If you advertise specials they need to have enough or a considered replacement. Overall what we had was very good. Wine by the glass very pricey

    Excellent as always. Though the prices have gone up a fair bit since my last visit.

    How to get service and quality right - every time I have been to the restaurant in the last few weeks, it has been excellent. Great staff, good quality food and excellent experience all round. Well done - you put your competition to shame by making it feel initmate and special when the others just churn out poor quality, poorly executed food at overinflated prices and don't give a stuff about service. I will be back!

    So. We like the Ivy overall and enjoy visiting in different locations. We do go to Tunbridge Wells a fair bit and it’s probably the worst location of those we frequent. Reception ladies good. Served by a stout man (there were two - (not the one wearing glasses he was ok). Order was taken, wrong starter came. I was really made to feel that this was my fault. The sarcastic undertones of “that’s not what I heard sir” came over. Well you heard wrong then pal didn’t you!!! Ruined the experience after that really for me, which it’s a shame. “Sorry sir” would have been the correct response matey. It’s fairly expensive for lunch, but it is a treat. However I think their “gratuity percentage” of 12.5% is over the top too. Why all of a sudden are we all paying for an hours service labour? Remember 10 covers an hour is c£125 for a £100 bill. There seems to be some “imbalance” in the service trade these days. After all you don’t tip the dude in Tescos for putting out the bananas really well do we?

    I love the ambience and decor of the Ivy in Tunbridge Wells and have been several times. It wraps you up as soon as you walk in the door. This time I ordered the truffle and mushroom linguine and wish I hadn't. The linguine was overcooked and I could not taste truffle at all. It was more like linguine in a mushroom soup. My friend had a stilton salad which he loved so it wasn't all bad. We didn't get asked if we wanted dessert despite being at the table for about 40 minutes post mains, even though it wasn't busy as it was afternoon. I would usually have the shepherds pie which is always delicious but expected other things on the menu to be as good. So.. not the best visit but maybe an off day.

    Our first visit to The Ivy in RTW. Not impressed with the service which was really poor. Nowhere near enough waiting team checking on our table, in fact nobody checked on us at all. We had to ask for our wine to be topped up as there was no care and attention. We felt like we were just treated as a transaction. No attention at all. Won’t be back.

    It's a great place which never disappoints. However, the general feeling the last couple of times is the food has gone down hill. We are fortunate to dine there a couple of times a month, but my husband is baffled the welcome is as if it's our first time. The atmosphere is always good.
