A beautiful setting with a great welcome but service afterwards a little slow. Food was on the whole good with a lovely tempura but only five prawns in the prawn curry! Nice birthday treat for my children which was included.

We were extremely disappointed about the food. We ordered 4 x premium experience menu. The Californian rolls, tempura prawns, pork dumplings and the beef were of a poor quality. The wine was very pleasant. The main waiter was good but the others were non existent and in another world. We had to call them numerous times to grab their attention. When we left the table, nobody said goodbye until we reached the main front door, especially having given the staff a 12% tip on a large bill. We are unlikely to return! Last month, we were at The Ivy, Guilford. The customer service was better but the food was as poor as The Ivy Asia- Appalling!

Unfortunately, as with other Ivy establishments, the menu caters admirably for the vegetarian client, which is a lifestyle choice, but is woefully inadequate for the coeliac, which is a medical condition. The QR code offered as a pathway to suitable gluten free food was less than impressive and offered little choice and excluded some dishes that were gluten free. Surely, if places such as Cote can offer a Gluten Free menu, this restaurant should be able to do the same. Whilst what we had was enjoyable the choices should not be the challenge that it was. Unlikely we’ll return any time soon.

After having the afternoon tea previously we decided to try the premium experience tasting menu. Though the ambience was amazing we were left less impressed with the service and food. Our starter of wontons and papadoms were soggy and we had to send them back. The final beef dish was overcooked. The dessert wasn’t very exciting compared to the afternoon tea desserts. The choux bun tasted burnt! We were asked if we wanted something else to drink only after we had our table cleared and water glasses clearly empty. Not what I would expect from an Ivy experience having been to the original Ivy many times. We went on a Sunday, and maybe that was the mistake. Felt we had the B team.

Overall the experience was amazing, amazing food and service. What made is 5 * is the interactions with the manager regarding my sons gluten free (coeliac disease) requirements. The manager went and spoke with the chef who explained what different children's meals they could make gf and safe for my son. We was also brought gf soya sauce to the table. It was just amazing!

What a brilliant way to celebrate my birthday- we had the 6 course set menu at it was amazing! Delicious food, imaginative presentation and impeccable service. The restaurant itself is stunning every where you look there is something unusual it’s absolutely beautiful.

Only my second visit and can’t say I’m overly impressed. The sharing starters were amazing as was the duck. However the mains were very disappointing. Everything was served warm rather than hot. I think I just expect a higher standard. The service is fantastic, welcoming, efficiency and friendly. The DJ at lunchtime was rather over the top. Looking around at the demographic it didn’t really seem warranted, odd choice but that might just be me. I found it irritating, a weird select and at times too loud. I did speak to the manager who had already noted his choice was a bit off and it was more chilled.
