Nestled in the heart of Brighton’s historic quarter, the brick-paved Lanes, The Ivy Asia Brighton is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and much more.

Savour a menu as rich and varied as the diverse cultures that span the continent of Asia. With pan-Asian classics alongside incredible vegetarian and plant-based options, there’s something to please all. Expect a range of Sushi and Sashimi as well as small plates such as Pork and Kimchi dumplings, Spinach and Mushroom Gyozas or large plates such as smoking BBQ Lamb Chops and Slow-cooked Pork Belly.

We had the £19.95 set lunch menu which was lovely. The decor is amazing but the best part of the experience was our fabulous waiter Rhys he was outstanding.

We were greeted politely at the door and had the perfect seat for 3 people. This meal was a birthday celebration for my husband and on the whole it was really enjoyable. We chose the set menu. Our 14 year old said her sushi was better than from the Co-op! However she found the beef dish rather chewy. My husband and I had the prawn dumplings and prawn tempura to start with, both of which were delicious. Our mains - tiger prawn rendang- were also delicious, but the rice was overcooked and bland. During the evening there were a couple of accidents where staff dropped china and/or glass so this distracted staff from their waiting tasks, but they were otherwise attentive, polite and quick. Finally, I don’t think the washrooms were checked regularly because two of the cubicles were messy when I went in.

Great atmosphere and food, as always - although the beef was inexplicably chewy, as it was supposed to be fillet - but management dealt with the issue swiftly and professionally.

We had the Samurai set dinner The prawn dumpling skin was a bit thick especially the "twist" on the top was very hard Service was slow, waited for the starter plates to be cleared. Had to wait a bit for the main to come.

The most beautiful restaurant and excellent food and service.The portions were on the whole larger than we thought they would be and we were advised to order 3 dishes each , but were unable to finish our food so felt that was a waste and to we were too full to then have dessert , With this information next time we will know what to expect:) A beautiful meal and setting

Poor value for money. The vegetable tempura hardly had any veg in it just lots of batter. Steak with egg was a thin sliced of beef. Noodles were brought out on their own and the rice was served at the end of the meal.Plates were taken away whilst some of us were still eating . A disappointing visit.

Absolutely amazing lunch out as always! The only slight downside was that our dessert took a while to come, and the ice cream was a little melted by then. Otherwise, perfect :)

Our welcome at the cloak room was excellent. When entering the restaurant we were ushered to a table upstairs which we politely declined due to the lack of ambience and the feeling of being stuck away. I had specifically requested to dine downstairs. The young lady looking after my party instantly took a disliking to us and was quite impolite in her attitude that I would dare to question her authority. She at first refused to consider my request and advised we had to sit where she said. If we were a walkin I would have understood but we booked in plenty of time. She continually requested we moved and then accused me of standing too close - a metre away?! She eventually agreed to my request to see a manager but refused to allow us to sit at the bar while we waited - there was space. The barman then invited us to sit down. A new hostess, Lauren, arrived, apologised and sorted us out with a table downstairs. The food was served but the mains course was being delivered before we had finished the starters - there was plenty of time before the need to vacate the table - 2 hours. I sent our main courses back. Empty plates from starters were not cleared until after the mains were delivered again. It was a shambles - the waiting staff were pleasant and attentive but were being pushed to serve us and agreed it was crazy. The quality of the food did not reflect the price - disappointing. Also lack of cutlery. The restaurant seems to be living off past times and should remember there are so many good restaurants in Brighton that perform much better for less money I declined the extortionate 13.5% service charge and gave our server a good tip - she deserved it!
