Nestled in the heart of Brighton’s historic quarter, the brick-paved Lanes, The Ivy Asia Brighton is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and much more.

Savour a menu as rich and varied as the diverse cultures that span the continent of Asia. With pan-Asian classics alongside incredible vegetarian and plant-based options, there’s something to please all. A gift to my parents for their anniversary at The Ivy Asia in Brighton for the evening - they said they absolutely loved it. They didn't know what to choose so the waitress recommended the Premium Experience Menu and they said they could not fault it - it was outstanding. Ate the whole lot it was so good! There was some level of noise due to a DJ being there on Saturday night, but they were sat near the back so it was ok. They enjoyed a cocktail in The Ivy next door beforehand at the fantastic bar.

The good was lovely although the tempura prawns took 50 minutes to come out and were more like battered prawns. Would highly recommend the wonton chips and dip and the tuna maki roll. Very good value for money and the interior is just beautiful. The only thing that let it down was the service which apart from the 2 gentlemen serving drinks was very poor. 3 people were at the reception which seemed completely unnecessary when all the did was check you in and show you to a table. No one checked to see if everything was ok with our meals and everything took so long to come out. Our first drinks order took 20 minutes to be served which was 1 cocktail and a bottled beer.

Where’s our duck? Last night, 27th July, 6.45 we ate at this restaurant in Brighton. On arriving we were greeted cordially by the door staff (doorman was first class!) We were shown to our seats at the counter by a very unfriendly woman (smiling is obviously not a requirement of the staff), and shown the menus. We ordered cocktails which were fabulous and perused the menus, the waitress took our food orders as we chose quickly. We were told that all our food would not arrive together and that it would come as it was cooked, which we knew as we’ve eaten there before (this is not the first bad experience but we chose to remain positive and hoped it would be better this time). While we waited we chatted to an absolutely lovely young barman (didn’t catch his name but he had a blue plaster above his eyebrow), but unfortunately he was told to stop talking to us by another member of the bar staff in the middle of our conversation and dragged away, extremely rude! Most of our dishes came together, which was nice, and what we had was delicious. The half crispy duck we ordered did not appear, however, and after an hour we decided to leave without eating (or even seeing) it. The manager came over and was very apologetic, removing the wine we’d had from our bill and offering us another free bottle next time (I’m supposed to get an email about this, I won’t hold my breath). There are too many staff and no one seems to know what they’re doing, a serious managerial issue in our opinions. It’s highly unlikely there will ever be a next time to be honest, it’s all left a bad taste in our mouths (wish we’d had the crispy duck in our mouths!) and we’ve given Ivy Asia a good chance. We definitely wouldn’t recommend after these experiences, customer service should be at the top of their priority list, and it’s right down there at the bottom. It’s a real shame that the whole experience was a lame duck from start to finish, we are certainly not used to this (no one should be) 👎🏻

Booked for 9.30pm, on arrival they hadn’t got us a table prepared and had us standing at the entrance for 10 minutes. All servers and staff avoided us until someone told us they weren’t sure what the delay was but they could seat us at the bar whilst we wait. Over 15 minutes until a bartender served us, and we didn’t get seated to a table until 10.10pm. No apology or consideration, overall a bad experience and will not be returning.

Great atmosphere, v noisy. An instagram restaurant. Waiter high on something, feeling up other staff. One dish missed off taster menu. Food however excellent. Don’t need to do it again.

We had the set 2 course menu, excellent food, lots of it and really good value for money. We all had a fabulous time.

When we arrived at the main entrance we were ignored and not made to feel welcome which I have to say is the first time generally staff weee nice but we had at least 4 different people serving us and they didn’t coordinate. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was put in a cooler a distance from us. At the end of the tea we both wondered if we had actually finished the bottle- no staff around so I went and found the bottle which was still half full. Staff had simply forgotten us and it. Not great really. I love you afternoon tea and both of us have 66 th birthdays this year so it was a treat to ourselves. However we left a little bit deflated.
