The Inn South Stainley - an independent cosy country pub with rooms offering a superior experience, great food, outstanding service and a truly memorable visit.

Our country pub and bar area is at the heart of The Inn which offers classic and contemporary interiors, relaxed seating and open fires. Enjoy country pub classic food dishes including daily specials and fine wines, cocktails, real ales and craft beer. Head Chef Shane White and his team have created a menu inspired by the seasons and resources and celebrates the amazing produce North Yorkshire has to offer.

We celebrate the regions finest produce and products, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, achieved with a smile and a traditional Yorkshire welcome for all.

    Had a very nice meal, we enjoyed both our main course and desserts, nice to see treacle tart on the menu.

    An amazing Inn, very welcoming and friendly staff, outstanding food and lovely accommodation! Booked here after a meal at the Drover Arms, will certainly go back to both!

    Food was amazing but disappointed that some of the menu was unavailable. Like steak for example. Had to chase up for more drinks. What we did eat was really nice and cannot be faulted.

    Went on recommendation, not disappointed, probably best pub meals we have had for some time. Will definitely return.

    Another excellent lunch at a great friends meeting place. Plenty of parking and well spaced tables in the restaurant. Friendly, welcoming, efficient staff and a good choice of food on the lunch menu which is very reasonably priced for the quality of cooking. The food is served at a pace so that the customer does not feel rushed. We would definitely recommend and will visit again.

I would like to apologise for falling short of expectations on this occasion. We were most certainly a lot busier than we had envisaged during your visit, and your comments in relation to the service received have been passed to the relevant departments for immediate consideration and diligence. I hope you understand this is not the standard which we, or our customers, expect or should obtain. We would love for you to return in the near future and experience the real Inn, feel free to use myself as a direct point of contact to ensure every aspect of your stay is the best possible experience.     Staff very friendly. Good was good but portion sizes very small for the price. Two had pasta which was starter size and one had small salmon fillet on 3 pieces of sweet potatoes and 8 sugar snap peas (£18.95) Desserts were £8.50 and equally small. Met at the Inn because of the location but although food was good it was not of a reasonable size. We mentioned this to the waitress ….i got the impression it was not the first time she had received the feedback!
