We had a great time. It was a small crowd this Saturday around noon. But the DJ was playing good tunes, the bartender had strong drinks and the food was divine. Our waitress a Nigerian princess herself was simply amazing. We will be back

I had an intimate birthday dinner with friends and ABSOLUTELY enjoyed my experience at Icon. The bartender Adrian was EXCEPTIONAL and gave us presidential treatment. I will definitely be returning. The vibe was memorable for sure.

Hosted my Birthday Brunch for a party of 20 and EVERYTHING was amazing!!! My server TK was such a JOY, she handled us all with ease!!! Can’t wait to go back and experience the dinner menu!

It was a terrible experience. The music was extremely loud disrespectful and vulgar. The DJ played club” music that constantly shouted out the words p***y, A**, and d**k during brunch . We left before the food !

Unfortunately my experience was horrible and I will not be going back. The service was subpar, and unlike several reviews complaining of the price being high, my complain was the food and service. I don’t have an issue with the price if the food and service is good. I ordered a meal based on the servers recommendation and it was tough. It was dry and I believe it was sitting there anll day and was heated up ant the last minute. I even tried to deal with it by requesting extra sauce, it was just too tough. I only drink water and my water glass stayed empty, although there was plenty of staff on hand with only 8 tables total on a Friday night. The logistics were telling me that they were over staffed for the amount of people who came through while I was there. (Meanwhile the service was quite attentive to my husband who was buying alcohol. This let me know it wasn’t about service it was solely about padding the bill.) My husband’s food wasn’t good either. Supervisor was really good because she actually tried to make the situation better; however I was there for almost 2 hours before my food came back out in a tiny server plate the size of my dogs dog bowl. I was done. I asked the server for plantains, she gave me these hard plantain chips; when I told her I didn’t want them I wanted the actual soft bananas; they said they weren’t ripe. Nothing about this evening went right. The services was horrible! I was a waitress for many years at a high end restaurant so I understand all the little things that my server missed. It’s too bad because we have previously been here and had a great experience. The disconnect started with the bed server and continued on to the bad food. It’s too bad because ascetically, the place is beautiful and one of my family members is actually on their ceiling!! (I come from a musical family). I love patronizing black own businesses, I’ve probably been to even one in the DFW. Unfortunately I will not be going back to this one. 0 stars for me.

The staff was the nicest I’ve ever encountered. They were apologetic that Open Table allowed the reservation despite the restaurant being booked out by a single party for a special event. They accommodated us on their patio. The manager kept coming over to check on us. The servers were stellar. The food was scrumptious…the lamb was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend requested his shrimp dish be prepared without the spice described in the menu. Since the food is prepared each order it was easily accomplished, despite this being an African restaurant with traditional hot and spicy food.

Booked my birthday brunch here. Upon arrival we viewed the menu. Once we began to order we were told the price of the oxtail was different from that on the menu. Which should be noted on the site or prior to ordering. We then waited 30 minutes for a chicken and pancake plate and oxtail and grits. The pancakes were cold and tenders that look like scraps once we actually received it. The oxtail was pretty good but the grits were cold and stiff. Service could have been better considering she only had two tables.

This place was amazing! Such a vibe for brunch. Their food was seasoned great. Happy they had hookah, perfect with the vibes. The only thing was our server was a little dry, maybe she was new though. The owner was very attentive and asked multiple times if we were good. I really liked how engaged the owner was. Definitely will be back!

Enjoyed The Icon! Adrian at the bar was a delight. I had the seafood stew with fufu and fried plantains, excellent as my first African inspired dish. The right texture and not too spicy. Live jazz music R&B music was a nice touch.
