Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

Melanie was our server . She was amazing . We had never been to the tea room and she went over the menu with us . Super friendly and really made my mom’s 75th birthday extra special . Highly recommend and we will be back for sure .

Took my young daughter to the Tea Room because I saw they had both vegan and gluten free tea menus (my daughter has dairy and gluten intolerances and gets horribly multi-day stomach pains when she eats either). The space is quite pretty. Our server's demeanor was fine if not a little aloof (i.e. not terribly warm). I talked through with the waiter and asked if we could combine the VG and GF menus, and just serve the items that were both dairy and gluten free (for example - the vegan cream cheese + cucumber sandwich on the gluten free bread) and just skip anything that had gluten or dairy in it. He said that was something they could do. They provided a plate of a few different mini sandwiches, some scones and some other treats for each of us. He served the scones with the creams (dairy) - which I immediately caught and he removed them and replaced them with vegan butter. Some of the treats like the madelines surprised me that they would be both dairy and gluten free - but after inquiring again he confirmed it all was DF/GF. Cut to the end of our meal after my daughter devoured the chocolate and strawberries, only to have the wiater tell us it was actually Nutella (which has milk in it.) My poor kid immediately started crying as the waiter walked away.... So now I'm wondering how many things she ate were actually dairy free. The food was okay (the gluten free bread they use is a pretty mottled brown/gray color but super crumbly and not the best texture). The bread also overwhelmed any of the ingredients in each of the sandwiches. The sweet treats were all lovely from a flavor perspective. Left a bit disappointed by it all, largely from the ingredient mix up and the ensuing stomach distress my daughter's going through.

Our waitress was very nice and even gave us the name of where they get the tea from to save money instead of getting it at the gift shop her name was Jo. Food was good the orange marmalade is made with the oranges grown there and the little tarts are good too.

We had a fabulous time celebrating our anniversary at the Tea Room. The front desk acknowledged our special occasion and us seated right away for our reservation. Our server, Jo, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and went above and beyond to make our experience so special. The food and tea were delicious, and we can’t wait to come back again!

Didn’t love the experience. Food was just ok, overall overpriced and underwhelmed. Really silly you have to buy a ticket to the gardens just for tea service.

I'm impressed and grateful to have been reserved and seated as a solo diner. Well done! Seating ran about 20-25 minutes late. Service was superb. Couldn't have been better. Kind and precise and friendly and helpful. Scones were excellent! Sandwiches and sweets were good. Overall an excellent experience!
