Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

Beautiful Main Tea Room with bright and colorful charm. A dozen tea choices are provided and food is sweet and savory. Service is prompt and cost is upscale reflecting the ambience, food, and service. A wonderful way to incorporate your full day at the Huntington Library and Gardens.

A very fun day with a very nice high tea. The sandwiches were very good and the service was outstanding.

It’s a lovely meal and each element of the High Tea menu (the Tea, the scones, the sandwiches and desserts) have a special twist or flavor that makes this meal a delightful discovery along the way. Plus it’s really nice to sit indoors in the hot summer day!

The renovation is great. I did enjoy the main room. Our server was quite pleasant and there was plenty of food. Look forward to going back and sitting outside next time.

I have been to a lot of teas and this one was over-priced and quite bland. You have to pay for admission which is 29 and then the basic teas was 62 which was not printed anywhere so we didn't know this and they do not answer their phone The particular day we were there was over 100 degrees so walking around the gardens was not enjoyable. The tea room was very stark really no decor and all the plates were white. I guess it could be considered a modern tea. They limit your time to 90 minutes and took our 3 tiered tray away half way through our meal and placed our food on a plate. Very odd. Just be prepared for the price, mediocre service, just ok on the food taste and limited decor in the tea room. The gardens are lovely!

Melanie was our server . She was amazing . We had never been to the tea room and she went over the menu with us . Super friendly and really made my mom’s 75th birthday extra special . Highly recommend and we will be back for sure .

Took my young daughter to the Tea Room because I saw they had both vegan and gluten free tea menus (my daughter has dairy and gluten intolerances and gets horribly multi-day stomach pains when she eats either). The space is quite pretty. Our server's demeanor was fine if not a little aloof (i.e. not terribly warm). I talked through with the waiter and asked if we could combine the VG and GF menus, and just serve the items that were both dairy and gluten free (for example - the vegan cream cheese + cucumber sandwich on the gluten free bread) and just skip anything that had gluten or dairy in it. He said that was something they could do. They provided a plate of a few different mini sandwiches, some scones and some other treats for each of us. He served the scones with the creams (dairy) - which I immediately caught and he removed them and replaced them with vegan butter. Some of the treats like the madelines surprised me that they would be both dairy and gluten free - but after inquiring again he confirmed it all was DF/GF. Cut to the end of our meal after my daughter devoured the chocolate and strawberries, only to have the wiater tell us it was actually Nutella (which has milk in it.) My poor kid immediately started crying as the waiter walked away.... So now I'm wondering how many things she ate were actually dairy free. The food was okay (the gluten free bread they use is a pretty mottled brown/gray color but super crumbly and not the best texture). The bread also overwhelmed any of the ingredients in each of the sandwiches. The sweet treats were all lovely from a flavor perspective. Left a bit disappointed by it all, largely from the ingredient mix up and the ensuing stomach distress my daughter's going through.
