Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

This was nothing like the previous quality and service at The Huntington Rose Garden Tea Room. The quality of the food was absolutely awful! The tea sandwiches were stale, made with awful fillings, that tasted like they were made three days prior, at $75 per person. The scones were hard as rocks and the signature rose tea tasted nothing like rose tea whatsoever. It tasted like watery, black tea. We were served without cream and had to wait 15 minutes for our coarse waitress to bring it. The service, tea, and food were a huge disappointment, especially after waiting 4 months for a reservation for 4! Horrible! Never again!

The gluten free option for the scones is wonderful while the rest of the gluten free menu is not the best being served on all the same bread. It was also not served on a tower. Caviar was wonderful and tea is delicious

We had an absolutely amazing time! I brought a friend to the tea house to celebrate her birthday and we could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was amazing, The tea was sublime, and the food was “chef’s kiss”. They were also extremely accommodating and very sweet about my mustard allergy. Unfortunately, I could not eat three of the sandwiches and since most of them are pre-mixed pieces that are put together, they gave me two of each of the other sandwiches that I could eat. They also gave me the option to choose which ones I wanted to, but I let them just do double of the ones I could eat. The only thing you need to take into consideration is you have to make the reservations three months in advance lol but honestly, it was totally worth every penny and the entire wait time. I will definitely be making reservations again for when friends or family come to visit from out of town.

As always great experience! Server Joe is friendly and attentive. We’ve had her a couple times now and she’s great.

As a member of the Huntington Library I hate to acknowledge that the food and experience is not, in my opinion, worth the expense. The Tea Room is better suited for Instagram and other social media platforms than it is for anyone seeking out a good high tea culinary experience. One big disappointment is that the lobster roll bread seemed stale, or at least a day or two beyond prime. Total cost w/ tip was just shy of $240 - we had been in NYC the prior weekend and the 2 of us had 16 course sushi lunches at a Michelin Star restaurant for the same price!

Salad took too long to arrive, and it is pricy for mostly lettuce. Service was great. She is very attentive. Some desserts are a bit too sweet. Tea tasted excellent! Will come back again, just won't order salad again.

This is a great place to enjoy with someone you love. Both the inside and outside are beautiful. I reserved outdoor seating, and me and my friend loved it. You can smell the roses, and the nature is breath taking. We got the traditional tea set, and it's actually much more filling than it looks, we both had leftovers. There's an incredible amount of detail and care taken into preparing the food. The $65 tea set comes with a great variety of both sweet and savory items, and we both got to pick our own tea. We were overwhelmed by how fancy and elegant everything was. It's definitely a worthwhile experience to elevate your visit.

Huntington Rose Tea Room is worth all its hype and more. The service is outstanding, tea is delicious, food and pastries are delectable (the lobster roll was so fresh!) and the ambiance was lovely and sophisticated. Well worth the cost.

It was very nice sitting outside. Loved the tea options and tea sandwiches with mini desserts. The scones with different creams and jams was a nice touch. Definitely would come back
