Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

Worst gluten free tea I’ve ever had. The bread is ice cold, dense and mealy. The fillings are scant and unremarkable and some unpalatable - wet cold pickled beats, caramelized onion, paper thin cucumber with a tiny smear of cream cheese, dry turkey and cheese. Desserts were unimaginative and very mediocre. They could at least bring gluten free desserts from a specialist company. Rose Tree Cottage in Pasadena does an amazing gluten free tea. I’ve been having tea at the Huntington for years. I miss the original fare. I had tea there last November and it was awful but I thought I’d give them another chance. Never again.

Both the lady and the man at the reception were brusque with my mother because she can't speak very loudly. They were very snobbish when I approached them as well. The scones and butters were very good, especially the orange scone and the marmalade. The Devonshire cream was very mid. The teas were OK and Luke warm. Everything else was very, very average and forgettable. The only good thing was Efrain (sp?), our waiter who along with his colleagues made it a pleasant enough experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant. It would be much nicer and probably cheaper to buy a ready made picnic basket and find a lovely spot in the park to enjoy your meal without the rude maitre'd to ruin the experience.

Everybody was lovely and accommodating. One of the members of our party has an allergy to garlic, and they were very accommodating to that as well. And her food was still delicious.

This was our first time having tea at the Huntington Tea Room since they reopened. We sat on the new patio, which was beautifully furnished and surrounded by a garden that somehow gave you privacy from people in the Rose Garden. The food was delicious, especially the tea sandwiches...my favorite! Several teas to choose from.

Dining room was under whelming. No flowers no ambiance. Outside tables looked better with views of the gardens. The tea sandwiches were not great. Overpriced.

Food is great, service has been improved but there is still room to be better. Very noisy. I think they should not allow kids younger than 3 to go because there was one who was super noisy and has no manners at all.

This place was beautiful and the service was spectacular. I’d say it’s a lil too pricey for what you get though. I’ve had high tea at other places that were around $30-$40 and had more stuff whereas this place (while yes it was good) was $64 per person for a few slices of bread, tarts, crumpets, and one tea selection. On top of that, you have to pay to get into the Huntington. I still rate it five stars cause it was a beautiful and calm experience, but again just a bit overpriced.

Lovely table in the Herb Garden room for our party of 4. Delicious scones, sandwiches and tarts, and one of the best jasmine teas I have tasted. Wonderful!
