Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

My husband and I went for afternoon tea at the lovely Rose Garden Tea Room. We had three excellent servers who explained everything we needed to know about the menu. We had delicious tea and a variety of tasty sweet and savory items to eat. For a special occasion or just a delightful experience, you can’t go wrong here!

The tea service is standardized and excellent! We celebrated our wedding anniversary, which was acknowledged with a table by the window, but we were also accompanied by guests with young children. This was an outstanding experience and the food is more filling than it seems, but be ready for a "family" experience.

While pricey, the Tea Room provides great ambience, very attentive staff and delicious food. It is a very pleasant lunch in a beautiful, unique setting! Highly recommended.

My husband, friend and I have had the tea here several times. We always choose the outdoor space which is very serene. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is good. I love their scones! Don't have anything negative to say.

This was nothing like the previous quality and service at The Huntington Rose Garden Tea Room. The quality of the food was absolutely awful! The tea sandwiches were stale, made with awful fillings, that tasted like they were made three days prior, at $75 per person. The scones were hard as rocks and the signature rose tea tasted nothing like rose tea whatsoever. It tasted like watery, black tea. We were served without cream and had to wait 15 minutes for our coarse waitress to bring it. The service, tea, and food were a huge disappointment, especially after waiting 4 months for a reservation for 4! Horrible! Never again!

The gluten free option for the scones is wonderful while the rest of the gluten free menu is not the best being served on all the same bread. It was also not served on a tower. Caviar was wonderful and tea is delicious

We had an absolutely amazing time! I brought a friend to the tea house to celebrate her birthday and we could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was amazing, The tea was sublime, and the food was “chef’s kiss”. They were also extremely accommodating and very sweet about my mustard allergy. Unfortunately, I could not eat three of the sandwiches and since most of them are pre-mixed pieces that are put together, they gave me two of each of the other sandwiches that I could eat. They also gave me the option to choose which ones I wanted to, but I let them just do double of the ones I could eat. The only thing you need to take into consideration is you have to make the reservations three months in advance lol but honestly, it was totally worth every penny and the entire wait time. I will definitely be making reservations again for when friends or family come to visit from out of town.
