We had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and made reservations for our trip to Key Largo. When we got there as a party of eight, they sat us at two separate tables of four saying that is all they had while there were other large parties seated together and lots of empty tables that could’ve been pulled together. Our questions fell on deaf ears. Our food was subpar at best, and our server Nick was highly unprofessional and told us he could not split the ticket in two (Even though we were inconvenienced by being put at two different tables) because he had already put in our drink orders together. He was very inattentive to our needs, and it took forever to get our food. Once we were done and wanted to-go containers, he again took forever while we were trying to keep flies off of our food. The best part was definitely feeding the tarpon, but everything else was not what I would’ve expected. The conch fritters were chewy, the crab patty sandwich had no taste at all, the small lobster tail sitting on top of my daughter’s macaroni was way overcooked and chewy making it hard to remove from the shell, and the fish and chips were just downright boring. Definitely make a stop by this place to feed the tarpon, but take a pass on the food.

The food was typical tourist food. Over fried, little flavor, and over priced. Everyone was sitting on top of each other. You could barely love your chairs. Took 30 minutes just to get drinks.

I originally had high hopes but was quickly disappointed…although the attraction was nice feeding the tarpon, this unfortunately was the only highlight. Service was poor, as was the food..over priced, over cooked and over seasoned. Save your money and go eat somewhere else.

First off. The food was very good. The issues was the damn mosquitoes. My wife and I were on the menu I guess. The couple at the neighboring table were experiencing the exact same problem. We each have15 to 20 bites. I would avoid sitting outside if possible. There are preventatives that should be taken by the restaurant to avoid their customers from being dessert.

Heavy Hitter was a great start to the first full day in the Keys and Ricki was super attentive and gave us some great suggestions about things to do (went snorkeling out of Robbie’s) and had some of the best snorkeling ever - comparable (or better) than Caymans!

We arrived 15 minutes early for a 6:30 reservation for our 40th anniversary dinner and we were seated promptly. Place was pretty empty. We were given a great table by the water. We watched people feed the tarpoon and the pelicans trying to steal fish😂. Our waiter came. He did his “job”. Nothing spectacular. We ordered jambalaya (my husband thought it was very tasty!). I ordered the grilled chicken, rice and black beans. The chicken was bland, the beans and yellow rice were warm, not hot. I hate warm food. My bad, I said nothing. Waiter came over once during our entire meal to ask if everything was good. Since place was empty I thought we would have “better service”. The restaurant added 22% gratuity to our meal for two people😳. Last time we came the food was delicious, service excellent and it was packed. It was about 5 years ago. I don’t know what happened?! They have improved the area around Robbie’s but the restaurant itself we felt fell short big time. I doubt we will be back. It was pricey and only 1 of us enjoyed our food😂🤪
