In a charming space with a turquoise-quartz ceviche bar in the hipster Echo Park, The Hummingbird Ceviche House serves an irresistible bill of fare focused on fresh seafood prepared using traditional Nikkei (Japanese-Peruvian) techniques elevated by California influences. David Christopher Lee of davidsguide.com proclaimed, “Chef Ricardo Zarate is the real deal, and The Hummingbird is the hot, new restaurant of the year.” Diners delight in Nikkei hand rolls, delectable ceviches, small bites, hot dishes, and desserts, and can sample the refreshing, new, and totally legal Delta-9 THC seltzers, house-made Chicha-Morada purple-corn-pineapple drinks.

I live a few blocks away and used to go to Maya's tacos all the time. I like Hummingbird and I appreciate the family feeling. I liked the food and the staff. I felt pretty strongly that the prices are too high for the portion sizes though. Good food, but not a lot for one's money - I think this will prevent me from returning often.

The food is AMAZING! Everything we ordered kept getting better and better and better. We used some of their crispy bread that was served with one of the dishes to mop up every last bit of sauce on every plate we had. Not too upset that they don't have alcohol as they have THC sparkling beverages that are kind of the next best thing. Only a month old and I'm already impressed with how solid the food was. The Spotify playlist was pretty amazing as well.

The LA dining scene is not the same with Chef Ricardo Zarate. We are so very fortunate that he has his own restaurant. He is happy and passionate creating the cuisine that he wants You will taste that love in each entree!

After experience Rosaline, we were expecting outstanding flavorful dishes. Service was slow but all servers were attentive and friendly. Not a place I would go back. Better ceviches at Hotbox.

It was some of the best ceviche I have ever had. Loved the food! Service was excellent! Definitely going back!

Every dish was unique, delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood!
