    I've dined at a number of the Jean Georges restaurants and even at another of the Tin Building dining establishments so I was excited to try the House of the Red Pearl with my 16-year old daughter. The details in the design of the restaurant and even the table settings are absolutely gorgeous. We had reviewed the menu beforehand and everything looked yummy, so it was a pretty hard decision on what to order. We went with the Spicy Cucumbers and Shrimp & Pork Wontons to start, followed by the Mala Chicken. Everything is family style so we shared. We loved the cucumbers and the wontons; just delicious. The Mala Chicken presents well but is basically well prepared chicken tenders mixed with sautéed onions and a couple of kinds of papers, topped off with sesame seeds and scallions. The spice level/flavor tasted the same as the spicy cucumbers and the chicken was dry. We still ate most of it, but decided to try one more thing on the menu - the lightly breaded and fried calamari. It had a completely different profile so we thought, why not? While the calamari was perfectly cooked the minced mix of ingredients that were meant to give it flavor, just didn't do it. Our server only asked once if we'd like another drink and at one point, we didn't see her for at least 10 minutes (at which point, it was too late to order another glass of wine). The young man who cleared our table did ask if he could pass along any notes to the chef and clearly he did because the restaurant was gracious enough to forgo charging us for the chicken. All this to say...the preparation of the food is excellent, but there's still some tweaking to be done on the flavors. I will try it again and next time order some entirely different. I really want to love it!

    Air conditioning is extremely freezing. I couldn’t enjoy the dishes and drinks.

    Wonderful experience at Red Pearl. We were seeing a concert at Pier 17 afterwards. Everyone from the host to bartenders were spectacular. We ate at the bar. All the food was perfectly prepared and staff was very attentive. I highly recommend a visit. Superb.

    My husband and I were in town for a short trip and I heard about this restaurant via a YouTube video from Adrienne Bailon-Houghton about her date night. What a great choice! This restaurant is a vibe and the food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely make this a go to spot for future trips.

    Fantastic dinner with my husband and young boys. Ordered many items to share. Family style. Delicious sea bass. Cool ambiance. Wonderful waitstaff. Highly recommend.

    The food, service and ambiance is amazing. The tuna tartare, roast duck and Black Sea bass were phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back.

    The duck is amazing. The combination of confit as well as sliced duck breast works so well with the buns and accompaniments.
