A clandestine fine dining restaurant serving Chinese-inspired dishes that marry the innovation of Jean-Georges with flavors of the East, tucked away for a feeling of discovery. New York’s best kept secret, with intricate gold wallpaper and blue velvet banquettes.

Inviting atmosphere, attentive service, delicious food (and drinks). Several in our party showed up late and the restaurant was pleasantly accommodating. The yuzu drop cocktail is very tasty!! Highly recommend the cucumbers, tuna tataki, fried rice, and longevity noodles. The wagyu with noodles is the only dish I would not recommend. It was drenched in a very thick sauce with an overpowering flavor. Not worth the price. Pineapple upside down cake with curry ice cream is delicious. Fortune cookie sundae makes a BIG impression but the ‘sundae’ was pretty boring. Not sure what was in it- maybe vanilla ice cream and marshmallow with a few nuts? Overall great experience.

The restaurant was very busy upon our arrival and after 15 minutes of waiting past our reservation time the host did offer our party of 4 complementary drinks which took the sting out of having to wait another 20 minutes for our table. The dining room is a seductive setting and the service prompt and attentive. We each ordered a dish with sharing all the goal. Black Bean Spare Ribs were amazing! Mala Chicken Sichuan , Dungeness Crab fried Rice, steamed Bass with ginger and desert of Pineapple upsidedown cake with curry ice cream were all exceptionally delicious. Tour the entire Tin holding for the full experience.

The House of the Red Pearl was a delightful surprise. Two of my friends and I were out for a Saturday night get together and hoping that we were not walking into a tourist trap at the Seaport - but since we were totally intrigued by the concept - we decided to try it. From our welcome by Edgar, the manager, to the attentiveness of Michael, we were treated to exceptional service - even to the point of offering us a complimentary glass of bubbles when the earlier diners had not vacated the table to which we were assigned. One of our party has dietary restrictions, and Michael's suggestions were spot on, all of them delicious and within what she could comfortably eat. We expected the food to be good - it is a Jean-Georges restaurant, right - however, we did not expect it to be as uniquely prepared and outstanding as it was. We all would heartily recommend this to any New Yorker's who are looking for a fun night out - different and delightful.

I feel like a regular here, I eat here about once a month when I’m in NYC. I love Tin Building in general and prioritize Red Pearl. Food is great. If I was going to critique anything, when I’m with 5-6 ppl they don’t really have seating to accommodate it. Tables feel a bit tight and space on the tables eating family style is always a bit of Tetris to make it work. I’d also say considering they recognize me, the service is a bit slow and lacking anticipation. Food comes out fast; but, drinks trail and trying to get a 2nd round before dinner is over can be a challenge. Because the food is staggered and served as ready, the servers are table side quite a bit; but, never the same person. But again, LOVE the food, ambiance and overall experience is consistently very very good!
