The Horse and Groom Inn aims to provide great food and drink in a quintessential, traditional 16th century country inn. Dining is relaxed and informal in a friendly atmosphere. We stock a wide choice of wines by the glass, cask conditioned ales, lagers and ciders.

Our guests can enjoy dining in our cosy bar or restaurant areas. We welcome well-behaved dogs on leads. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. We also have a comfortable outdoor terrace and garden area with picturesque babbling brook.

We also have a small in-pub coffee shop and delicatessen! Selling the best of local produce, bread, milk and a selection of luxury food and drink items, the shop is open whenever we are. We also provide great coffees to drink in or take away.

Our menu focusses on great steaks and seafood (vegetarian/ vegan always available).

Note: There are two pubs called the Horse and Groom in the area - we are the Horse and Groom Inn at Upper Oddington.

Join us for our special, fun end-of -year celebration dinner, quiz and party. Dinner will be followed by our annual New Year's Eve Quiz, rounding off the year with a disco before welcoming in 2025 at the 'bongs' of Big Ben. Our bar will be open until 1am to enable you to see in the New Year in style! We will provide a special set menu with vegetarian/ vegan and gluten-free options available (menu published from October onwards). This is a pre-paid experience. Cancellations made within 10 days of the event are non-refundable.

Good choice for Sunday lunch. Menu for Sunday mains is relatively small but the roast striploin beef we had was cooked rare as per menu and was of good quality and size. Vegetable portions were not huge but perfectly adequate and were cooked well. The only significant criticism as the food would have benefitted from being hotter. Service was quick, knowlegable and inobtrusive and we were left to eat and chat at our own pace. All the puddings we tried were excellent. We would definitely return here and with a little bit more attention to detail the allocated mark could easily tick over from good to excellent.

We enjoyed the roast beef and some fish dishes, very tasty and the beef was cooked to perfection. We were made to feel very welcome, service was great. We ate out on the patio , the inside of the pub looked very nice too. All in all an excellent experience.

What an excellent place this is! A couple of delicious Wye valley beers and some lovely Savignon Blanc were suitable for a delicious Sunday lunch. The starters were excellent. After a couple of pardon peppers, the home cured gravadlax, succulent scallops, super sesame prawn toast and a lovely stuffed mushroom were great introductions to the skills of the chef. We then enjoyed beautifully rare striploin of beef, lovely Gloucestershire shoulder of pork, and a skilfully cooked ribeye steak with simple but well cooked vegetables. The honey roasted parsnips were a great success. We managed to squeeze in a fruit crumble with home-made custard, a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, a gin and tonic sorbet and pineapple tart tatin with coconut ice cream. All of these dishes were beautifully cooked and tasted superb. The chef is clearly very talented. Service was very efficient but warm and took care of all our needs - the staff were a credit to the management and their training.

The Scottish scallops, fresh bread and butter, seabass and rump steak were all very yummy! Our waitress was wonderful and the ambiance was lovely! The wine was the only thing that I didn't really like and I'm not a picky wine drinker. I had a glass of chardonnay and a sauvignon blanc and both were sour.

This was our second trip here, and the food, service and general attention to detail was excellent. Last time we had the seafood special, this time I was going to try the steak but there was a monkfish tail on special so had to try this. It was the best monkfish I have ever had. Fantastic place to go and eat. Try it.
