The Hornet has been serving the community of Denver for more than 25 years now, and it has become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. Located just a few doors away from Denver's finest independent movie house, The Mayan Theatre, it makes a great stop combo for dinner & a movie. Our happy hour kicks off each day at 4pm and goes until 7pm and features $4 draft beer & wine and also $3 off all appetizers.

Some of the top items on the menu at The Hornet include artichoke heart fritters, cheese and potato pierogis, prime rib french dip, honey stung fried chicken, cubano sandwiches and the lobster mac & cheese. The Hornet has a number of burger options as well. You could even have a private event at the restaurant. It is also nice for a date night.

This is such a great neighborhood place! Their cocktails are good, great happy hour deals on apps, and the food has always been delicious. We got the caribbean pork, bistro steak, and honey stung chicken... all would order again! Reasonable prices, too

I only say that the noise level was high because there was a DJ playing, however his music was great, all different genres all different decades. They had college football game on which we enjoyed. Drinks were great. Brunch food was amazing! Very flavorful and interesting.

I hadn't eaten at the Hornet in years, and I met a friend for brunch on Sunday. Wow!--double mimosas at brunch from 10-3? I had the pineapple and it was excellent. I ordered the pupusas revuelta, and another wow! It was outstanding all around, but those fried plantains?? Best ever in my experience! I will go there again soon, bringing friends :-)

We love the Hornet. It’s a moderate priced restaurant with great food. The fish and chips are one of my go-to’s. The fish is very crisp and moist. The chips are shoestring fried cooked just right and their Tartar sauce is excellent. My other go-to is the grilled Caesar. Ask for it to be extra charred. The smokiness is just right and it’s served with Caesar dressing drizzled over and shaved Parmesan cheese. One of our party had the Rueben. It was huge and she loved it. Another had the honey chicken and was very happy. Dessert of the day was fresh peach cobbler, enough for 4. The peaches were obviously fresh and the shortbread was just the right crumble. Service is prompt, friendly and helpful.

Just came for drinks and a light appetizer for date night, but left after having a very good time. Drinks were delightful, and designed with good balance in mind. Sweet potato fries were also delicious.

This was such a fun experience! The Hornet was hosting a Boozy Book Fair and we stayed and ate. Food was delicious, we had appetizers and a meal. Service was excellent, there just wasn't enough staff for such a busy night.

The food was outstanding, I have walked by this restaurant multiple times, it's always packed, and now I know why.. The pierogis and the elotes were amazing, a must try! Can't wait to go back to try more dishes.

It had been far to long since our last visit to The Hornet, which was in March. I really wish we lived closer as we would likely visit on a weekly basis. Great food, drink and service - what more could one ask? And they do it on a consistent basis, so we will be back.
