The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

Excellent afternoon at Hope Vine. It’s always good in this venue but today was better than ever. Always pleasant staff and service , food great ( salmon ceaser starter fantastic ) and really good value for money Never any complaints

My friends and I had walked from Appkey Bridge to the Hop Vine as we have done before and we found the service, the food, our table in the room on the right was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and always recommend the Hop Vine to other friends

Fab place to eat with an amazing buzz about the place. Staff were courteous and friendly. Food was hot when served with a great side plate of fresh veg which I loved. Definitely will be back

I had fish lie which was delicious, there were 6 of us and everyone was pleased with their food.

Staff amazing, food was fresh,hot and very tasty. My son had steak and ribs Combo asking for his stake to be cooked rare, and he said it was cooked to perfection I ordered the sticky prawn salad, which was lovely with plenty of prawns but I would say just a little too much sauce that made my salad to soggy. Maybe put the sauce in a separate dish to add as and when.

Went with friends for Sunday tea. As usual food good surroundings good and staff friendly. Overall a good meal in a traditional pub with good service.

Three of us went for Sunday lunch,we had pre booked which is highly recommended,as it was fully booked when we arrived,we were quickly seated & had very fast friendly service from the staff.The meal portions were very impressive & very tasty,they also had a very good selection of real ales one being my favourite Timothy Taylor Landlord,I highly recommend eating at the Hop Vine
