The Hoffman House restaurant, in the scenic Hudson Valley, opened for business in June of 1977. The building is a fine example of Early American Dutch rubble architecture featuring wide planked random width board floors, a fire place in each of the main rooms and many small multi-level rooms.

The Hoffman House is located at the corner of the historic Stockade district in Kingston NY, and once served as fortification and a lookout. Today the Hoffman House serves a continental fare, featuring steaks, fresh seafood, pasta specialties and homemade artisan desserts. An open-air, beautifully landscaped garden patio, enhances outdoor dining in the summer, while you can cozy up next to one of our three large stone fireplaces in the winter.

Recommended by a long term patron we were impressed with the quality of the Pasta Elaine, and excellent cioppino, Casual atmosphere with great service from Laura, great food, inside or outside dining, Looking forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful experience here this past weekend. We sat outside on the beautiful lawn and was able to bring our well-behaved dog. The food was all really rich and flavorful and the portions were quite large. We enjoyed everything about this place.

We got a reservation when needed, seated outdoors as requested. Our servers were friendly and attentive. The menu had a good variety. The pasta and the coconut crusted chicken were very tasty. I would go back if in the area again.

This restaurant always surprises me with the excellent food and reasonable prices. Three of us had the half duck which came with a side salad for $29 . The house wine was good and reasonable. We eat here when we meet to play golf in the area.

Our server was superb, attentive and gracious. My salmon entree was very nicely presented and delicious. The steak special was also a hit… done perfectly. The quaint atmosphere was inviting. We ate inside and A/C was on at comfortable level.

There was one major problem: They charged for soda refills! Unconscionable! Had we known we would not have had refills. That added up quickly. I am very disappointed.
