We arrived for a Fathers Day meal - booked for 4.30pm however the order was never communicated properly to the kitchen so we waited for well over 1.5 hours for our food only to be told then that items we had ordered were not available. Also if we had not enquired about our food then we'd have waited even longer. There was no cutlery on our table we had to get our own from other tables in the restaurant. It was so poor the deputy manager agreed that all charges would be waived

Lovely dining room looks like been recently refurbished.waitress was friendly and helpful,food was hot and fresh and delicious,huge portions way too much for my elderly mother but perfect for a bloke with a big appetite.maybe do a small dinner option(we had the Sunday roast) beef green beans, cauliflower cheese,roast potatoes,mashed potatoes leeks and Yorkshire pud.beef was tender and perfectly cooked,plenty of gravy

Roast was quite nice but would have liked the parsnips not to have been incinerated to a black crisp! Gravy was plentiful and nice & thick 😋 My companion ordered the Apple & Raspberry crumble which could only be served as an apple crumble due to the lack of raspberries! I was looking forward to the Strawberry & Meringue cheesecake which also came minus the fruit & very little meringue! Despite complaining, I still had to pay the full price for the dearest dessert on the menu…. Would probably not use this pub again due to the negative experiences on this occasion

Booked a table for 515pm. Arrived at 445pm only to be told that the kitchen was closed. They were totally unaware that we even had a booking so clearly don't check this. So booking online is a complete waste of time. Leaving us and our two hungry children with nowhere to eat at 5pm on a Sunday. Wouldn't risk going back after this experience

We booked a table for 2pm… food didn’t arrive at our table until 3.20 pm after chasing up twice. Restaurant was empty but lots of people ordering from outside as weather was warm and Sunday (bank holiday) Only 2 staff on. Disappointing we weren’t prioritised as we had booked this previously and been before. The food quality was good but not worth nearly a 90 min wait

New owners and new staff always liked it here Sunday roasts are let's just say very tastefull not your usual Toby stuff but new owners still have a fine dine Sunday roast a tad expensive but we'll worth it hopefully next time around there will be more staff Thanks hinksford arms

We booked a table for Sunday lunch. When we arrived there was only one other table in the restaurant area occupied. They were eating their meal. We ordered straight away, two beef dinners. We were not informed of any delay. We waited for 45 minutes. No member of staff came to explain the delay. The other diners were served desserts while we were waiting. In the end we summoned a member of staff and said we were not waiting. She said she would sort it out. We waited for her to come and tell us that she had cancelled our order , but she came out of the kitchen and did not acknowledge us at all. No apology , nothing . We walked out! On a positive note, the lady that served us drinks was lovely, friendly and efficient!

Lovely pub, lovely food, lovely staff, dog friendly. Female owner which was nice to see. Very clean and tidy. Would I go again hell yes we’ll all be back

Food & Service excellent - really poor system for payment, had to queue at the bar for a long time behind people buying drinks.
