The Hillside is a charming, rustic pub situated in the historic Georgian village of Hillsborough, County Down, only 15 minutes drive from Belfast city centre. The Hillside first opened its doors to patrons in 1752 and has been enjoying a busy trade ever since thanks to our excellent food and drinks selection and our friendly, welcoming service. We are renowned for our roaring open fires in the winter and our pretty cobble stoned beer garden in the summer.

Good atmosphere and pleasant staff. However both the starter and main course were only lukewarm. We’ll not be back soon!

Excellent evening.We loved our seating, food and service very much.We will return and do every year.We live in Canada and always have the Hillside as one of our favs. The young staff were super nice and accommodating.

The food was excellent but I wish we had have been moved table due to the fact a male was undergoing medical treatment close to us and it was a bit off putting.

Had an overseas visitor who ordered his meal because it said champ which he wanted to try. Pointed out to waitress and champ appeared at which time we had almost eaten the meal with the mash it was served with. Had to wait at least 45 mins after ordering for meal to be served. Told our food was being plated 25 minutes before brought to the table. Don’t think I will rush back, especially with visitors

Nice cosy pub with a great menu and choice of drinks. Really recommend. Bit more on the pricey side but well worth it.
