Service is excellent, the views more than make up for a few minor issues with the food. It's a great experience.

Once again The Highlawn was absolutely delightful in all aspects! It was a special birthday dinner for a dear friend, and our server, Mike, made it such a wonderful occasion. The appetizers were delicious - we especially enjoyed the lobster tempura and the beet salad. The four of us ordered a Cowboy (tomahawk) steak for two, and a Porterhouse. Both were outstanding - cooked perfectly medium rare, well-marbled, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It was a terrific evening, from our complimentary sparkling wine to the birthday cake.

Sadly, hoping this was an anomaly because it was Labor Day weekend, however venues of this caliber should never deter from their usual level. At valet poor kid (his 1st day) was inundated.. we parked ourselves, tipped him anyway, felt so bad for him Drinks took 20 long minutes to come. Food was not enjoyed much, Caesar mascarpone salad was a gunky mess. Bolognese ok, wild mushroom cappelletti in a broth…could have been better, very salty, peas overcooked, English peas should not be cooked to dark khaki green. Tuna tartare was enjoyed. This is not an inexpensive menu…. Not positive, looked like 1 waiter for entire room. Again, we usually love this place.. so hope this doesn’t happen again.

Excellent food and service. Lots to choose from on the menu and the dishes are thoughtfully prepared. Pricey but worth it. Only drawback: The dining room is noisier than would be ideal — but overall it’s still a very nice experience.

A special place for a special occasion. Spectacular view of th NYC skyline. Service, personal attentive details and great food made for a wonderful evening . The 9/11 memorial wall nearby is also important to see.

My family chose to dine her to celebrate our daughter’s birthday at the location where my wife and I were married. The setting was as beautiful as we remembered and we prepared for a pleasant experience. That was the last positive aspect to the evening as we proceeded to wait 20-30 minutes between each visit by the waiter, despite the dining room being, at most, a quarter full. The break between our appetizers and entrees alone was 70 minutes. One would think that the staff would recognize this and attempt to rectify things but they only addressed our discomfort after I got up to inquire about the food. The manager, Stephanie, said all the right things but proceeded to do none of them. My daughter, who nearly fell asleep between courses, asked if we were on a prank show. An absolutely tremendous disappointment, and an awful way to end the summer. I will not be returning and I wish that there was a way to time travel so that I could warn my younger self about my experience tonight and adjust accordingly.
